Yep. The chicken came first. You can't get a egg without a chicken.

It was on the radio the other day, they had the actual answer, lol but I've forgotton it... I think it's the egg because like someone said two random animals got together, I think it must have been ummm a fish and a mouse, and POOF came a chicken...

the chicken, because God made the chicken to tend for the egg in order for it to surivie. if the eggg came first then what tended it, in a way kept it warm before it hatched. the chicken came first.

Well as I believe in evolution my first point would be what is a chicken. And no I am not crazy I do know what a chicken is but what I mean is because (I believe) animals are slowly evolving the chicken as we know it nowadays would have come from a different animal. But because it is evolving so slowly it is almost impossible to define where the old animal stopped and the modern chicken begins. Therefore my answer is neither the chicken or the egg it is the singled celled organism where all life stemmed from

    chicken

"^ but you cant get a chicken without an egg !"

yes but if god placed the chicken on earth then the first chicken wouldn't need to be from an egg. the egg can't survive without the chicken to tend to it and give it warmth. which is why it makes since that the chicken came first.

I think it's all to do with evolution. So the animal.

  • Jaime

    I think the egg.

If you believe in the theory of evolution, then some species of birds would have evolved over time, slowing turning closer into the chicken that we have today. Eventually, a bird only slightly different than a chicken would have laid the egg that grew up to be the first chicken. Therefore the egg was first, the chicken was second.

That's hard to explain, I'm not even sure if I made any sense.

lol this is mind boggling isn't it?

I think the egg cuz the chiken had to come from an egg. plus the fact that something had to make the chiken and chikens come from eggs. like something like this could have happened: to spieces of bird have breeded and when they layed the eggs something was differnt. and there was a new bird :The Chicken. there forth the chicken was hatched form the EGG. lol but thats just my views.

i argue with ppl about that all the time when it comes up. i can go further into it but i have other things to do.

god created the CREATURES not the eggs

why is it always the damned chickens fish lay eggs too so do tons of other species ... but everyones obsessed with the chickens

  • -Ghostship Fidelity-

People who believe in God can say that. But as for the others I would think the chicken came first. Maybe the evolution process transformed something into the chicken and then the chicken had the egg. It makes sense in my head at least.

  • Jaime

^But something couldn't just transform into a chicken, you think? The chicken would have had to hatch from an egg, first.

  • -Ghostship Fidelity-

Yes but remember I said evolution. Where one organism pretty much evolves into another. That's what I meant.

  • mkhoviyeun

of course the EGG.. scientists claim that some eggs can be self-produced..

  • Natalie

I still think the chicken came first. Lol..

  • Jaime

Tony I think we're thinking along the same lines here. I'm talking about evolution too. A creature that had almost completely evolved into a chicken (but not fully) would have laid the egg that grew up to be a chicken. Therefore the egg was first. Get it? It wouldn't start out as something else and then evolve into the chicken halfway through it's life.

  • PygmyPuff

I agree with ^^^. The chicken was a mutation of a previous critter. It hatched from the egg as a chicken and made baby chickens with some other mutated critter thing...hahaha

  • Jacklyn

i don't really even believe in evolution. really what scientist are claiming mutations occur slowly so for one species to become a completely new one would take a really long time. it would have to be multiple mutations as well to make it into a new species and these mutations would have to benifit the animal to survive to reproduce.

Really what this whole question seems to be coming down to is evolution vs. creation. many people who are supporting their chicken answer are saying god creates creature. and those who say the egg are saying evolution and mutations.

for me i just don't see much on the evolution side of things.

I don't believe in anything. But I still think the chicken came first. And even though some people have some good points about how the egg came first or whatever, The chicken came first. If the egg came first, It wouldn't be able to survive without a mother chicken keeping the egg warm. So then there wouldn't be a chicken. So the chicken came first. I don't know how, And I don't care how. But the chicken did come first. Lol..

I reckon the egg coz think about it...we all came from eggs at some point! hehe xx

  • Sean Allen

it was recently decided by a panel of scientists and philosophers that the egg came first. Something lay an egg, and the egg had a mutation. Whatever hatched from that egg was the first chicken. Mutuations (and hence one of the main facets of evolution) only matter in the gametes of the parents. Once the mutated what-have-you sperm mixed with the mutated what-have-you unfertilized egg, it made the first thing we'd call a chicken egg.

...I'm not sure I'd like my tax dollars going towards any more panels like that though.

egg because chickens must have evolved by a non chicken. And in the zygote is the only place where DNA mutations can occur

The egg had to come before the chicken! Some sort of lizard slowly evolved until one day, a chicken came out of the egg instead of a lizard!

    Simple as pie.

The egg. Dinosaurs had eggs long before chickens were around.

I still think it's the chicken!! I have thought that since this thread started. And, I'm not gonna change my mind. The chicken came first! So everyone who's a egg lover just accept it that the chicken came first. Mmkay? Lmao.
