50 years ago, there were many things, like womens rights, legal matters pertaining to freedom of choice and the distribution of wealth, sexual liberation etc, that by todays standards, would be thought of by enlightened folk in a negative light. |

On robotics, I'm a little worried Realdollsâ„¢ will become a little more, er, real. I believe that in the space of 50, they'll be enhanced to talk, respond, and move in ways men like. This worries me, because I believe it could take over real human interactions - not everyone, of course, but a woman/robot/doll that has a perfect body (remember they'll have developed even more bodies and heads in 50 years time, to suit many different men), that can give gratifying sex without wanting anything in return will appeal to certain men. And of course, for woman, they have just started creating men also. |
