I was in a car aciedent last night, I hydroplaned and skided and spun the car and hit a mailbox, smashed the drivers side window, and went to the ER had 6 stiches in my arm for a cut by shattered glass, I have a cut eye, not sure if I will be able to see out of it. I will try to keep you all updated, I am not sure if I will be on a lot, due to the fact I am in a lot of pain. |

well, I just went to the ER again, my eye was in a lot of pain after I put my medications (steriods and antibiotics) in. They gave me a pain reliver and said it would be fine, that my eye had been irretated some how and that is why it hurt and was all puffy. well no big deal right? Lets just hope all goes well and I don't need a cornea transplant. |

I feel for you, Joe. Aquaplaning (or hydroplaning to you Americans) is a nightmare if you're not concentrating on what you're doing and don't know how to correct it. The first time it happened to me I was driving a RWD car (a '78 Marina) with no PAS, at 70, and I'd been on the road less than a year. After fishtailing it around a gentle right bend in the dual carriageway I finally hit the kerb and spun the car 360 along the verge. It was liberally planted with young trees that cushioned the impact enough that the only damage to my car was a bust rim and some superficial panel damage. I attribute the fact we survived so unharmed to the fact that it hadn't been long since I'd passed my test and my instructor had been very very strict on teaching me about oversteer and steering correction. |
