~ I run outside my house. I start out walking, then I run a couple laps, then walk again. I do that for a while...and when I'm done I do some sit-ups.

First of all never stop eating, just eat more healthy. For a snack instead of having some cookies, have an apple. Eat fresh fruits and vegtables, and dont forget about whole grains. Lean meats and fish are also good. And drink alot of water. Also get excersize. Whether its going to a gym or playing a sport. With a well balanced diet and good excersize you should be on your way to weight loss. It may take some time but it will work.

Before each meal, drink some water. It'll help give you a feeling of being fuller then you are, so when you think you're stuffed you've really only eaten as much as you need. It's also healthy for you. If you're not a fan of water, just cut out the soda. I'd love to tell you how many kilo's you'd lose, but we have lbs. over here...

I never had a weight problem for some reason. I gues it runs in the family.
but I would eat 3 meals a day. Breakfast being the biggest. Lunch the smallest and at 2.. not 12. Then dinner at 7:30-8
Avoid snacks.. and if you must have one make sure its a vegetable or a fruit.

The food has to be healthy, avoid sugars and fats. NO sodas. each can has around 7 spoon full of sugar in it. Drink a lot of water.

Go for walks, walk the dog, the kids anything, just get out and walk.. Get up early and walk to school or work.

    Thats it.

    Doug your a twig LMAO

Yuck nothing more unattractive than a drastically skinny bloke who cant enjoy a good meal...

Im sure its been mentioned above me but eat healthy, exercise and drink plenty of water to flush toxins out of your body. Another thing people dont realise is that when you dont eat every three hours your body actually goes into starvation mode and starts to slow your metabolism down making it harder to burn fat or loose weight, try a small healthy snack every coupla hours like nuts, fresh fruit or veggies, yoghurt or the like :o)

    "eat less, train more"

I hope you mean less calories. I suggest keeping track of the calories and burn them away through cardio workouts. Also, don't skip meals, your body burns protien if you do... I think it was protien. I'm not entirely sure, so nevermind lol.

instead of eating 3 big meals a day and a few snacks in between ( even if they're healthy) eat
4-5 small snacky meals a day, such as a bowl of fruit, or a low fat yogurt. one summer i lost 20 pounds ( dont know how much that is in kilo's lol ) an kept it off. that was the year before i started high school and it felt really good. everything is about portion control. YOu can have some cake, but make sure its not an outrageous portion. dont put your life on hold cuz your on a diet.

also, you dont have to be outside or on a tredmill to walk and loose weight. go to the mall and walk around with your friends. or a flea market ( most are outside).

    good luck with this!

  • Synyster

    I recently lost 60lbs myself.

    What you need to do:
    >Make breakfast big and filling. Eat smaller meals for lunch and dinner, with maybe a small sandwich bag of grapes or dry cereal for a snack
    > Cut out fast food to maybe once every two weeks or once every month as a treat.
    > Instead of something sugary or junkie, eat some fruit, yogurt, granola bar... or maybe a small bag of BAKED potato chips.
    > Replace carbonated drinks with water and juice. Have a soda maybe every other day.
    > Instead of driving to that store that's seven blocks away, walk or ride your bike[unless you plan on buying a lot]
    > And of course, exercise. Try to organize a game of soccer or tag football with some friends or, like me, get the PS2 game Dance Dance Revolution and get dancing! They have a workout mode on DDRMax 2 that tracks burned calories and a weight loss journal.

Give this a try and keep it up for a month and see how you do. If your results were as pleasing as mine, keep going until you hit your goal.

    1) Eat when you're hungry...just make sure it's healthy and keep the amount on the small side.
    2) It is better for your digestive system to eat 6 small meals a day than 3 big ones.
    3) No pop. No junk food.
    4) When you're craving chocolate, have some granola. When you're craving potato chips, grab a bag of carrots. Want pop? Drink juice.
    5) Exercise. Break a sweat for at least 20 minutes 4-5 days a week.
    6) Drink lots of water.
    7) Be positive. Attitude effects everything.
    8) Don't skip meals. This just makes your body want more and absorb more fat when you do eat.

The most enjoyable way of getting some pretty good exercise, (I find) is dancing.
I do Irish dancing twice a week, and that really gets you puffind, but at the same time it's really, really fun. I also do flamenco twice a week, which gives my thighs and arms a little bit of tone, and then martial arts once or twice a week, depending...

Here's a little something I happen to know:

Where there's good muscle, there is hardly ever fat.
If you work out and form muscle, say, on your arms, it will be very difficult to get cellulite and soft tissue there.

The other things are, if you really want to lose weight, and, better still, look healthy, you have to cut out sugars, starches and bad oils, like hydrogenated...
Most stuff like chips, white bread, cereal, cakes, biscuits, candy and especially soft drinks contain this.
Personally, I am a vegetarian, which is my reason for giving McDonalds, KFC and other fast food places a wide berth, but even if you eat meat, it's a good idea to stay away from fast food.
If you want to know why I say this, you must rent a movie called Super Size Me. It's about a man who eats nothing but McDonalds for 30 days, and look what happens to him...!!

    Hope I helped.

    1) As soon as you wake up drink a glass of water. The water must be bottled or filtered.

    2) Eat a Big breakfast, anything Organic

    3) Go for a walk, Must be outside for at least 1 hour.

    4) Instead of eating 3 times a day, eat 5-6 times a day, smaller meals.

    5) Exercise, anything from walking, running, jumping jakes, riding a bike, etc. Get up and move, you have to do some kind of exercise.

    6) Try to stay away from Dairy (if you must have some, use organic)

    7) Drink lots of water

    8) Be positive. Attitude effects everything. If you tell yourself, "I can't do this, I am fat" then that is what your body thinks. If you tell yourself, "I can do this, I am in shape." then your body believes that it is already in shape and actually causes your body to look like that faster.

And that is basically it. Stick to that and you will lose weight safely.

I have something that is amazing!! Ok do you own a playstation? There is a game called "kinetic" and it is a fitness game...I paid 30 dollars for it and an itoy camera is included....It is a fitness game, you rest the camera on the tv, and it has motion detectors. You have to like hit objects and avoid falling obstacles by stretching... I played it and my body was acheing the next day. It tells you how many calories you burnt, you can see if you have improved, you can even have a personal trainer! You type in your age, weight and height and they make a routine that fits your needs....It is fun too....well thats what I have been doing...beats running.....special K diet works if you want to lose weight within 2 weeks...you have to be committed though....

I dont drink a lot of water, or run, but i eat 3 times a day & work on losing this belly by doing 50 crunches @ least 2 or 3 times a day

  • TinyDancer46

Instead of making dinner the huge meal of the day, make breakfast the big one. It won't make you gain any weight if you eat it in the morning, but if you eat as much in the night then it will stick to you like crazy =) (at least thats what I learned in health lol) Drink a TON of water. Alot of times you mistake thirst for hunger, and end up eating, when really all you needed was a bit of water. And here's the one that has worked for me most: Join a gym. You get there, and you see all those motivated people, and it inspires you to try harder. Plus if there's guys there than you want to impress them by working out. =) And here's the most important thing of all: Don't give up. There will be days when you want to get that pop or crave chocolate like nothing else, but just try to remind yourself what you think is more important: A taste in your mouth, or the body that would boost your confidence. But also, if you want to reward yourself once every once in a while, that's okay, just don't over-do it! Heh, hope I helped =)

... "& work on losing this belly by doing 50 crunches @ least 2 or 3 times a day"

^^^ you will not lose the "belly" by just doing crunches, you have to eat correct and also do cardio, doing crunches alone will do nothing, yes it will strengthen your core, but you will never see the results. YOU MUST EAT HEALTHY AND YOU MUST DO CARDIO, I can't stress that enough.

Also, if you want a flat stomach that is nicely toned and shaped, doing "50 crunches" won't do it.

You have to take it slow, your abs is just like any other muscle, you don't want to over work it.

Your abs are a fast twitch muscle, so I usually do 1 minute of ab crunches as fast as I can without stoping, then I take a 30 second break (no longer) and I do another minute of slow ab crunches, really holding it at the top of the crunch.

    Ciao, Joe

I heard that diet soda is just as bad as regular.

For one thing, it contains aspartame, which is a chemical that can cause cancer. If you are going to use an artificial sweetener, use Stevia.

Also, since diet soda contains a substance that tastes like suger, even though it may not be, your body still thinks it is, therefore reacts just the same as if you did drink a regular coke.

All carbonated drinks are not really that healthy for you, because it slows down the digestion, which can cause your body not to digest the nutrition and enzymes it needs. SOda also dehydrates you, which can make you body store extra fluid.

A little bit of everything once in a while will never hurt you - it's how much. Everything in moderation. Balance everything.

Try to stay away from pop, and, trust me, you will have more energy. I stayed away from it for 6 months, even diet, and now when I drink it I feel sick to my stomach and more tired than I did before.

** Enjoy your life! If you want chocolate, have some, but keep it to a minimum. Like, have one block instead of the whole thing or buy one of those thin bars that are only 100 calories each.

The other day I had two KFC chicken thighs right before I went to work. So after that, instead of bringing more left over chicken to work for my supper I went to the store and bought some strawberries for a snack. It just balances everything out so that you're not deprived and still enjoy yourself!!

    Five simple steps.

*Drink juice for breakfast, water the rest of the day. Coke or other things only one day a week. The rest, drink water.

*Eat healthy. If you think your hungry, eat an apple.

*Eat just enough to feel full, if you feel stuffed, stop eating.

*Good night, sleep tight, dont let the bed bugs bite; sleep atleast 8 hours a night.

*Work out three times a week (I use Pilates)

AHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!! Arwen, funny... sorry back on topic now...

i would say to excersize more if you are already eating the right amount of calories... but whatever you do, DONT STOP EATING. its not healthy... i was anorexic and it sucked. it was really hard to get over. so just excersize and drink lots of water. i would also say no diet soda because it has twice the amount of regular sugar and carbs.

it depends from where do u wanna lose more weight from.....
abs-crunches, i have a way of doing crunches, do this lay flat on ur back, lift both of your legs up together like a right angle, and do crunches that really helps me.

from ur butt and legs- do alot of squats daily and try to walk and or run as much as possible.

also swimming is a very good workout, so try to go swimming as much as you can since it's summer.

  • Lovely Bones

Doing all sorts of crunches won't really help you lose weight. They will help tone, and gain muscle which eventually burns fat but muscle weighs more than fat.

It's mostly about the stuff you eat. It's not just what you do on the outside, it's mostly inside that counts.

It really isn't that hard. depending on whether you're male or female you'll burn between 2000-2,700 calories a day without exercise. just breathing. create a deficiency and you'll see excess as a result. basically cram your mouth with healthy, nutritional meals until you've consumed about 1,500 calories, whatever takes your fancy, go for a little jog even though you don't NEED to (it's more healthy, but whatever!), and you're dropping from a varied pound to 2 pounds and more each week. don't starve yourself, don't force yourself to be sick after meals, don't "fast" (not eat anything at all for days) because all that does is completely slow down your metabolism and your body will retain all the fat it can, so really you're only doing damage to yourself. if you want to count calories, there's usually calories on the back of everything. though sometimes in an unhelpful 100g, but if you're any good at maths you'll find out.

anyhow i see this is form 2006 but i'm bored so i might as well waste my time posting.

PS. allanah, i SO think i've seen you on livejournal proanorexia!

    You know what ...
Ignore all the other garbage, this is simple. Joe (Italian Stallion) hit it smack bang on the head with 2 points earlier on.

I'm 15 stone and none of it is fat .. Here's mine (and Joes) advice ...

    4) Instead of eating 3 times a day, eat 5-6 times a day, smaller meals. [Rather than eat large meals infrequently ... graze. You should never feel too hungry or too full at any point]

    5) Exercise, anything from walking, running, jumping jakes, riding a bike, etc. Get up and move, you have to do some kind of exercise. [1 hour per day regardless of what]

Stick to that and you will see yourself fit as a fiddle in -literally- no time at all!

    ~Pete.

Seen a lot of peeps have put exercise and grazing etc, all great ideas, but here's just a couple of little ideas I've heard before...

1# Brush your teeth before going in to the kitchen if you are likely to end up snacking...it makes everything taste nasty and so stops you from just grabbing that chocolate bar or milkshake etc.

2# Eat in front of a full length mirror...it refines your eating habits and makes eating less of a comfort.

and 3# Everytime you think you are peckish drink a pint of water. Often we think we are hungry when really we are thirsty.
