    Hey everyone
Can you tell me a poem that made you cry? It doesn't have to be yours, but if you have a really sad one, please share it with me.
I would love to read them, since sad poems are my favorite ones.

    Thanks!

there was this poem about people dying...
    God saw you getting tired

And a cure was not to be,

So He put his arms around you

    And whispered, "Come to Me."

With tearful eyes we watched you

    and saw you pass away.

And though we loved you dearly,

We could not make you stay.

    A golden heart stopped beating,

    hard-working hands at rest,

And although our hearts were broken

We know, God only takes the best

Briskly walking in the dark of night,
The deepest black so hard of sight,
The road is clear and the air is still,
A sharp noise causes a chill.
From behind there comes a sound,
    Footsteps gently treading ground,
I yearn to turn and face the fear,
Wondering how I ended up here.
On an unlit street walking my way home,
Foolishly thinking I was safe on my own,
Street smart aware of everything I should,
Where'd I grown up in my neighbourhood.
These footsteps were like no sound familiar,
I'll never forget or hear anything similar,
I can't see a thing in the night of black,
A hard force pushes me down from the back.
From behind he rips my pants,
Covering my mouth with the palm of his hands,
Pushing within me as he tears me inside,
I have no place to run and there is no where to hide.
He does not say a word he never does speak,
I lay limp less my body is weak,
Wanting to fight back but can't defend at all,
I broke both of my legs taking that fall.
My body aches every inch is in pain,
When I think its over he starts again,
I see a glisten in the corner of my eye,
The silvery point makes me cry,
I know he is firmly holding a knife,
And when he's done he'll take my life.
But already I'm wishing I was dead,
Praying he'd just killed me instead,
My soul, innocence and purity has been captured,
My body is broken and my stability is fractured.
He turns me over stares into my eyes,
And slits my throat as i attempt to cry,
Gets up and kicks me while I'm down,
Blood warm on my neck pouring over the ground.
Next thing I know lights blue and red,
I'm shifted onto a hard but warm bed,
Tubes and needles hurt the light is bright,
Trying to speak of what happened that night.
But I cannot speak nor use my voice,
Laying with numbness is not my choice,
He cut my throat so I would not say a word,
About that night and how I'd been hurt.

And still I cannot speak till this day,
Thats why i write everything I have to say...

^^ that was the first poem that ever made me cry I'll never forget it

    A Sad poem about Columbine
    Author :unknown

Jonny brought a gun to school,
He told his friends that it was cool,
And when he pulled the trigger back,
It shot with a great crack.

Mommy, I was a good girl,
I did what I was told,
I went to school, I got straight As',
    I even got the gold!

But Mommy, when I went to school that day,
    I never said goodbye,
I'm sorry Mommy, I had to go,
    But Mommy, please don't cry.

    When Johnny shot the gun,
    He hit me and another,
    And all because Johnny,
Got the gun from his older brother.

    Mommy, please tell Daddy;
That I love him very much,
    And please tell Chris; my boyfriend;
That it wasn't just a crush.

    And tell my little sister;
That she is the only now,
    And tell my dear sweet Grandmother;
I'll be waiting for her now,

    And tell my wonderful friends;
That they always were the best,
    Mommy, I'm not the first,
I'm no better then the rest.

    Mommy, tell my teachers;
I won't show up for class,
    And never to forget this,
And please don't let this pass.

Mommy, why'd it have to be me?
    No one deserves this,
    Mommy, warn the others,
Mommy, I left without a kiss.

    And Mommy, tell the doctors;
I know they really did try,
    I think I even saw a doctor,
    Trying not to cry.

    Mommy, I'm slowly dying,
With a bullet in my chest,
    But Mommy, please remember,
I'm in heaven with the rest.

Mommy, I ran as fast as I could,
    When I heard that crack,
Mommy, listen to me if you would,
    I'm not coming back.

I wanted to go to college,
I wanted to try things that were new,
    I guess I'm not going with Daddy;
On that trip to the new zoo.

    I wanted to get married,
I wanted to have a kid,
I wanted to be an actress,
    Mommy, I wanted to live.

But Mommy, I'm must go now,
    The time is getting late,
    Mommy tell my boyfriend,
I'm sorry, but I had to cancel the date.

I love you Mommy, I always have,
I know; you know it's true,
And Mommy all I wanted to say is,
    "Mommy, I love you"

I found this poem a few days ago and it made me cry.. then again it had a really sad song to go along with it.. so it doesnt quite have the same effect without it.. here is the link if u wanna see it with the song.

this one also makes me cry every time... I know its really long but everyone has gotta see this one..

    "Daddy's Day"
    Author Unknown

Her hair was up in a pony tail
her favorite dress tied with a bow.
Today was Daddy's Day at school,
and she couldn't wait to go.

But her mommy tried to tell her,
that she probably should stay home.
Why the kids might not understand,
if she went to school alone.

    But she was not afraid;
she knew just what to say.
    What to tell her classmates
of why he wasn't there today.

    But still her mother worried,
for her to face this day alone.
And that was why once again,
she tried to keep her daughter home.

But the little girl went to school,
    eager to tell them all.
About a dad she never sees,
    a dad who never calls.

There were daddies along the wall in back,
    for everyone to meet.
    Children squirming impatiently,
    anxious in their seats.

One by one the teacher called,
    a student from the class.
    To introduce their daddy,
    as seconds slowly passed.

At last the teacher called her name,
    every child turned to stare.
    Each of them was searching,
for a man who wasn't there.

    "Where's her daddy at?"
she heard a boy call out.
    "She probably doesn't have one,"
    another student dared to shout.

And from somewhere near the back,
    she heard a daddy say,
    "Looks like another deadbeat dad,
too busy to waste his day."

The words did not offend her,
as she smiled up at her Mom.
And looked back at her teacher,
who told her to go on.

And with hands behind her back,
    slowly she began to speak.
And out from the mouth of a child,
    came words incredibly unique.

    "My Daddy couldn't be here,
because he lives so far away.
But I know he wishes he could be,
since this is such a special day.

And though you cannot meet him,
    I wanted you to know.
    All about my daddy,
and how much he loves me so.

He loved to tell me stories
he taught me to ride my bike.
He surprised me with pink roses,
and taught me to fly a kite.

We used to share fudge sundaes,
and ice cream in a cone.
And though you cannot see him,
    I'm not standing here alone.

"Cause my daddy's always with me,
    even though we are apart
I know because he told me,
he'll forever be in my heart"

With that, her little hand reached up,
    and lay across her chest.
    Feeling her own heartbeat,
    beneath her favorite dress.

And from somewhere in the crowd of dads,
    her mother stood in tears.
    Proudly watching her daughter,
who was wise beyond her years.

For she stood up for the love
of a man not in her life.
Doing what was best for her,
    doing what was right.

And when she dropped her hand back down,
    staring straight into the crowd.
She finished with a voice so soft,
but its message clear and loud.

"I love my daddy very much,
    he's my shining star.
And if he could, he'd be here,
    but heaven's just too far.

But sometimes when I close my eyes,
it's like he never went away."
And then she closed her eyes,
and saw him there that day.

    And to her mother's amazement,
    she witnessed with surprise.
A room full of daddies and children,
all starting to close their eyes.

Who knows what they saw before them,
who knows what they felt inside.
    Perhaps for merely a second,
they saw him at her side.

"I know you're with me Daddy,"
to the silence she called out.
And what happened next made believers,
of those once filled with doubt.

Not one in that room could explain it,
for each of their eyes had been closed.
But there on the desk beside her,
was a fragrant long-stemmed pink rose.

And a child was blessed, if only for a moment,
by the love of her shining bright star.
And given the gift of believing,
that heaven is never too far.

This poem made cry, it's so sad.

    "My Name Is Sarah"
    By Glen Jones Staples

    My name is Sarah
    I am but three,
    My eyes are swollen
    I cannot see,

    I must be stupid
    I must be bad,
    What else could have made
    My daddy so mad?

    I wish I were better
    I wish I weren't ugly,
    Then maybe my mommy
Would still want to hug me.

    I can't speak at all
    I can't do a wrong
    Or else I'm locked up
    All the day long.

    When I awake
    I'm all alone
    The house is dark
    My folks aren't home

    When my mommy does come
    I'll try and be nice,
    So maybe I'll get just
    One whipping tonight.

    Don't make a sound!
    I just heard a car
    My daddy is back
    From Charlie's Bar.

    I hear him curse
    My name he calls
    I press myself
    Against the wall

    I try and hide
    From his evil eyes
    I'm so afraid now
    I'm starting to cry

    He finds me weeping
    He shouts ugly words,
    He says its my fault
    That he suffers at work.

He slaps me and hits me
    And yells at me more,
    I finally get free
And I run for the door.

    He's already locked it
    And I start to bawl,
He takes me and throws me
    Against the hard wall.

    I fall to the floor
    With my bones nearly broken,
    And my daddy continues
    With more bad words spoken.

    "I'm sorry!", I scream
But its now much too late
    His face has been twisted
    Into unimaginable hate

    The hurt and the pain
    Again and again
    Oh please God, have mercy!
    Oh please let it end!

    And he finally stops
    And heads for the door,
    While I lay there motionless
    Sprawled on the floor

    My name is Sarah
    And I am but three,
    Tonight my daddy
    Murdered me.

Check out a factual poem I wrote about my 7 year-old daughter. It's quite sad...

    http://www.poems-and-quotes.com/sad/poems.php?id=714669

I'm also looking for more non-fiction poems for my upcoming book that will be titled after this poem. The poems have to relate to child custody and divorce and how it affects the children involved. Have any in mind you've read or written? If so, might I be able to read them and possibly pick one or more my book? I need 50 poems in all.

    Thanks and God bless!

Do you mean a poem that just made me cry because it was sad?

If so, I don't have one.

But I have cried at the beauty of a poem. It's not on here anymore, but the poem "Scribe" by Seyella.

    It is gorgeous.
