Hes so cool and really understands me
but his family hates me
and now i cant talk to him because of it.
should i change the way i look and act to talk to him again, or should his family be the ones to change?

Okay. This is something going on with me right now, so this is what I am doing. The only difference is the person is my boyfriend. Well, his parents are racist, and prejudice, and say things like girls with short hair are dikes. (And I have short hair) I am the complete opposite of everything they think. They are nice to me, but talk really bad about me behind my back. I use to go to there place everyday. And then stopped. It's been 6 months since I have been there. I figure if they don't like me, to bad. I am not with my boyfriend for his family to like me. All I want is the relationship with my boyfriend. You don't need to change. You're his friend, not theirs. Don't worry about it. All you need is his friendship.
