    There's a World Out there

    Depressed and sad inside
    There's nothing left to hide
    Stuck in your own mind
    Making your eyes blind

    You never leave your room
    That's good, you assume
    So answer these questions now
    The things God have bestowed

You see that tree over there
The storm have made it bare
    But isn't it still standing
    Isn't it somehow still waiting

    There's always hope for you
You just need to know what to do
Know where to look and find
    The pieces of your mind

You cry, you hurt, because you're alone
Then go on ahead, out of your comfort zone
There's plenty of stuff for you to do
There's plenty of stuff for you to go through

Indulge in the brilliant colors of art
Use your hands to break clay apart
Paint the hues of the changing sky
There are so many new things to try

Touch the piano and it's beautiful keys
Make great music the way you see
Loud and fast or soft and calm
    Anything to keep away self-harm

You lack love, that's what you say
But who was that lady you talked to today
She seemed so concerned about something
She was so kind, gentle and caring

Was that your mom, your neighbor or friend
Not everything in life has to end
Sure, you have been hurt in many ways
But you've also had so many of those happy days

There's a world out there waiting for you
Stop mourning yourself and just get through
You're wasting your time on self-pity
There's no help in "me, me, me"

Get off you bum and wipe your tears
A brighter future is coming near
Open your mind and drop your knife
Learn the responsiblity of living your life

Ok this one is about unsafe sex, and how women should be preparedjust in case.

It's up To The Double X to Promote Safe Sex

The lust that comes with a crush,
Or the energy that flows through your veins,
    Causes insanity like no other,
And may force you to become an unwanted mother.

The heat rises, and the tension too.
As the hormones are pumped throughout.
No time to stop, to get necessary protection.
The only care is that sensual connection.

    But with no previous knowledge,
And no understanding of his past,
Now you share his secret pains,
Caused by believing this was a game.

The Y Chromosome calls for uneducated thinking,
So we need to straighten ourselves up.
And have our own provisions of need,
For none of us know when we shall perform this deed.

No matter if we are active,
    Or waiting until marriage,
The time is now to be prepared,
It may have been a scam when he said he cared.

    Stuck In Protest

Is there no conscience in this world?
No difference between right and wrong?
Is the grey between the black and white
    Too big to overcome?
    Just because of terrorists
We try to bomb the world
Revenge is sweet, but cant there be peace
    Without having tempers unfurled?

    All the protestors in the world;
    All those who oppose war,
Are trying to stop a major crisis
But what is it all for?
    Our country is a democracy
    It's speaking and being heard
    Saddam is just a dictator
It's him against the rest of the world

I think that Biscuits poem should still be considered...Length isnt everything and shouldn't matter in this case...The pome is very good.

When is this contest over? Is there a time I should check back for the winners?

3 Problems With The World Today

You heard the phrase, 3 wishes
    What about 3 problems?
Don't tell me you know what this is
    Don't say that I'm just a pessimist

#1, people dying from things we "thought" were innocent
    Accidents, traumas, galore
Think you can hide the truth that easily?
Think everyone will give up and hit the floor?

    Babies in their mommies
Hear those words, "I'm too poor, I'm too young..."
Is that a reason to kill them,
Even when they did nothing wrong?

    Government raking in millions
    Of little souls today
A growing industry by the billions
Wish someone would have a say

Be it with salt, a scooper, a tube
Murder is going on in the hospital you go to
A human is one that can feel, live and breathe
Babies are human too, can't you see?

    Children, parents, and (young) adults
    Tangled in this web
    #2, introducing child abuse
One of the most ignored issues ev'

You've heard the stories, seen the faces
"My Name Is Sarah", a very famous one
At least she ran away on two legs and made it
    What if you had none?

Bruises, batters, dressed in rags and tatters
Red lips and eyes from crying
Sore skin, broken minds and souls
Can't even hear the telephone ring

Number 3, a crime commited to and by me
Being judged by how you appear
Be it the fashion, the music, the skin
The language, the actions, the shoes you're wearin'

I've commited the crime and I know you have too
Judging someone by how they treat you
Badmouthing behind their back, maybe in your head
Wishing they would dig a hole and pronounce themselves dead

    ~*~ It's a crime we all commit
These, in my opinion, are victimizing sins
Ones that shouldn't be forgiven but are
Because, as human, our mercy hits its mark ~*~

You can never change the past, but the past can change you
In stranger ways than you ever knew
Do not be afraid, just say sorry for what you did
From judging a person, to hurting a kid

Pray they will forgive you, shower them with love
    For the people of today
    Still are from heaven above

    Truth

This world is dead, there is no hope
not one survived not even the pope
the world has been destroyed, the light has faded. what happened to everything God had created?

all this around me can't be true
what happened to everything i ever knew? all these things must be real
it caused wounds that will never heal. we were all paralyzed by our fears, and now we are all drowning in our own tears.

our friends are all rotten, our family dead. we pray to our God, to heaven their led. our life comes down and crashes, all that remains are ashes. every thing's burnt, destroyed, blown up. in the remains of the church lies the bishop.

no love remains, there's only hate.
perhaps in fact, this was our fate.
and after this you'd think they'd stop. the water that's left are just tear drops.

enough blood has shed, please stop this now. go on shake hands, in fact just bow. throw guns away, destroy them all. keep on fighting and you'll all fall.

But go ahead and lay more to rest, at least you'll say you did your best. perhaps there still might be a chance, to rebuild this planet, destroy the trance. but the minute another gun is fired, our hope is gone, our chance backfired.

hope you all like this one

If I Were Unattractive, You Wouldn't Hear A Word I Say*
    by Wax Kalling

The plain and pretty people hold a monopoly on the world’s attention because ugly people don’t identify with those who look like them Thank you, television Nothing makes a woman more pleased than seeing a woman heavier than her but only the insecure don’t understand why a guy would love a heavy girl instead of the prettiest Fat girls hate fat women who are brave enough to stand alone Fat guys won’t date women larger than a size 10 because of those comic book heroes and the women drawn out of proportion by guys who could never get a glance from the head cheerleader && it comes as no surprise that all the girls who identify with Christina Aguilera && sing along with all the songs written by guys they look more like && think they can be a star because they’re too shallow to be anything else && Everybody knows girls like her Everybody tells her she sounds like Amy Lee or Avril because they’re too afraid to tell her the plain ugly truth -- So she has to hear it from Simon Cowell Far be it for a fat person to know their limits but let’s be realistic Just because you can you should not do a nude scene Cellulite produces a gag reflex that ruins the romance for the obese audience because none of them are able to accept the fact that everybody has it because they can’t accept themselves because nobody accepted them You won’t be taken seriously until you drop all your defenses && let yourself be frightening and pathetic It takes courage to be foolish Put your true self on full display You won’t get attention by acting just like them Nobody wants to see a fake but if you open yourself up && let all those bottled feelings out People will identify with your pain We’re all built && grow a different way Beauty is a vain && doubtful, fleeting thing && even pretty people can show ugliness at times The soul is all that matters it’s who you are inside && other tired worn out cliché lines that everybody says but nobody really lives because the truth is when it comes down to it if I were unattractive, you wouldn’t really care

    *I hope this isn't too long o.-

    Unknown by Many

    Nobody cared and never cried
    For the daughter dying inside,
Laws of guilt the soul did abide,
In the mirror, truth could not hide,

    Nobody cared and never heard,
Sniffling tears of the caged bird,
    Writing down a sacred word,
    Until her vision blurred,

    Nobody cared and never felt,
Sorrow for the hand God had dealt,
Upon her pillow tears did melt,
Side of the bed, she had knelt,

    Nobody knew she was abused,
Neither that she had been used,
    Emotionally she was still bruised,
Walking free was the boy accused,

    Nobody cared and never cried,
    For the daughter dying inside,
Laws of guilt the soul did abide,
In the mirror, truth could not hide.

    Its Murder..

When you go to work each day
Do you listen for the cries?
Do you hear the silent screams they make?
    Everytime they die?

When you kill those innocent children,
Do you wonder about their souls?
Do you wonder what they could've done?
If they had reached their goals?

    You say thier only flesh,
    Only muscle skin and bone.
But they could have been someone
If they had the chance to grow.

Remember that little one you killed today?
He could've been the new pope.
He could've changed the way the world works.
But thats something we'll never know.

That little boy could have found the cure,
    To cancer, AIDS or more.
He could have saved a million lives,
    He could have ended War.

When you stop their hearts from beating
Do you think of what you've done?
Its just as though you've shot a child,
    With a legal machine gun.

Before you kill those innocent kids.
Think of how you're such a fool
The government's tricked you into thinking
    That this murder isn't cruel....

    Abortion=Murder..

    The Black Rain

    The black rain is falling,
    Destroying all in its path
    Staining their souls,
    Playing out its evil wrath,
    None can escape
    As it tumbles down-wards,
    Spreading the evil
    To gather in hoards,
As the sky turns to black
    The red lightning shall flash
    The ground shall burn
    The world turns to ash,
    The black rain continues,
    Across the land,
    Creating chaos and feelings
Of which, we can never understand.
    We watch it coming
See it plummeting from the skies,
    Do nothing to prevent it
As the world around us dies.
For the rain is our sins
    Those events we create
    The damage and pollution
Things we have come to realize
    But now it's too late.
    The damage is done,
    The rain shall descend,
    We can only watch it,
    As it brings our end.
