Is it normal to feel guilt of *not being a friend* with someone

Well Sunday in New York there was a car accident that killed two boys. They were in 8th grade, one 14 adn one 15. The older one, Ryan, was in my class in 4th grade, but he had failed so he was still in middle school this year and I didn't talk to him.

But now that theyre gone I feel really guilty. Like I prolly never would have been friends with them, they were go-carting when they got hit, and Ive never even been in one, but liike now I feel guilty because I'll never have the oppertunity to be their friend.

    Is this normal?

    Sounds reasonable to me.

I think you need to ask yourself where your guilt is really coming from...?

Why, cos having been his friend would've given you a real reason to mourn his loss and have some kind of tragedy in your life?

    Sounds normal to me.
