FIND INSPIRATION HERE: Calling ALL Writers!

Cheers indeed, Annelyse! I completely agree with you, some poets just need to realise that you can write about ANYTHING. I don't believe that the only purpose of poetry is to write about how one feels at a set time. It's all about the senses....good poetry appeals to the senses. If anyone truly needs inspiration then they should just go by exactly what is stated above.

That was awesome! Way to go, Annelyse, and Jordan too. You're both so right. Take my "This Untitled Poem" and "Gone" for example. Those aren't topics a lot of people write on. If you have no 'inspiration' then write about inspiration or no inpiration!!! No one says poetry has to be about this one topic.. it can be about anything. Whatevers in your heart, that's poetry just waiting to be put on paper.

    ***edit***

However, I believe there is such thing about no ideas coming from a certain topic. I'm challenged to write a poem about metal, and I have no idea what to write. I think sometimes it just takes time.. it depends on the person. But I still stand by what I said and you as well, Annelyse

Woo for Annelyse! I agree. There's so many topics people can write about. They just have to OPEN their eyes and take a look around, Annnnnd maybe smell the air and stuff lol.

If your best friend called, what would you say
If your mother called, what would you say
If your enemy called, what would you say

    If you won the lottery,
    If you missed the bus,
    If you failed school,

    If you called yourself...

    What would you say?

Writers block can be attributed to a poem inside you that needs to be wrote but you might be afraid to write it because it may not be the perfect poem. Or it may not be your usual poem that you might write. Challenge yourself by writing about something totally off the wall for you. Also brainstorming for ideas is a good technique. You list things that interest you and then combine them into a poem. It can make the poem writing fun and eventually the writer's block will lift.

look at random objects and think randomly until you hear a line in your head. Like the other night I was sitting on my front porch drinking a glass of water, and I noticed it was half empty, so I wrote about it. Another day I was riding around with one of my female friends and I noticed I could hear her over the sound of the music, so I wrote about. It's little things like that, that should inspire you.

Honestly, I've never had writer's block.. no1 should ever have writer's block. I mean if you feel like writing, write. If you don't, don't force yourself to. You may want to write, but if the feeling isn't there it probably won't work. That's how I am anyway.. everyone is different I guess.
