I want to be a Buddhist because I've decided it's a very sensible religion and it doesn't ask you to believe in omething that is unbelievable i.e the Christian creation story. I don't know any Buddhists and I would like to talk to some to figure out wether it's the religion for me... would someone please reply and tell me more about Buddhism

Hi, I am Steve. I am only 18, but I have recently been exposed to Buddhism (through books and the Buddhist school down the street from my house). I find it very comforting for the same reason as you do: Buddhism does not pressure one into believing in any god; only the god within one's self. When you get this, please go to my page and e-mail me. I don't care much for these forums so I doubt I will find my way back here anytime soon.

If you are truly interested in Buddhism, I suggest you read some books on the subject. There are many books on many subjects, many speaches by many masters, and many different views on many different woks- choose accordingly to your own preference. If you believe in one view over another, then go with the former. Whatever you choose, be sure you are comfortable with it.
