Ways to make this a better website.

We're just looking for suggestions on how to make Poems-and-quotes a better website. Posting here does not mean they will be instated. All serious suggestions will be considered and reveiwed by the Moderators and the Administrators.

what big contests are you talking about? If you're talking about the P&Q 'weekly' contest... that doesn't really have 'entries'

Bob #3 is a very good suggestion.

And so is the book..I used to go to a website many years ago and they published two books with some of the poems in it. The people whose poetry was in the book got 2 free copies and the others could buy them at a very reasonable price.
Myself, I kept a copy of both and gave the other copies to our city library.

I am really wanting to go to the cookout...pray that I can get the time off at both jobs :)

Bob, I am sure I will meet a few, providing I can actually go. However I don't intend to go to meet a man, I am not in a big rush for that one. LOL

Anyway, I am sure there are more out there like him & I will find one...someday.

It may be a tall order but one worth considering. As we write more and more poems, it will become an endless list of poems that we have to navigate from top to bottom on each individual poet's page before we may find something which we would like to pick and read.

My request simply is to have sections for different types of poetry so the reader can select the sub-section on a poet's page that he wants to read poems from i.e. Love, nature, friendship etc. etc.

Bob is gone and he isn't coming back. I wish it were otherwise, as a member and more importantly as a mod, but as it stands we need to get ourselves sorted without Bobby boy.

So get invovled as Bob would have wanted you to.

i have a suggestion but it might make me sound like an idiot
but i think there should be a button thingy that lets you set this site to your home page.
unless i was to dumb to notice that there was a way to do that i think it's a pretty good idea.

to allow more than 20 ppl on you fav list, with so many good poets, 20 isn't enough

I think it would be cool if you let us choose what colors we want our profile to be. Like, instead of this default orangey color, we could choose purple, black, green, pink, whatever so that we can personalize our profile. Sort of like what the website "Hi5" does.

I also agree with Steven Beesley and OceanSouls' suggestions.

Reevaluate your moderators.

dude i've been w/ this site too long, watchin it fall down.. last year, noone had a problem (this site was amazing) w/ anything but the 'jealousy'' factor w/ downvoting. i suggest people look to the 'old' posts and you tell me how many locked threads you see. now you tell me how to make this site better.

Hmm..ways to make this site better

1. yes, more than 20 on our favorites

2. Have more warnings when people sign in, especially new joiners

3. Teach respect for each other's opinions

4. Instead of asking what food you like, turn this into a real poetry site. Teach what REal Poetry is truly about.

5. Maybe start a resume like thing in which new comers have to fill, or something like that. Something that stops people from joining not for the poems, but to ruin other people.

6. Get rid of the voting system or somehow improve it

7. Yes, get a book published from our site

8. Let regular members have more voice in problems

9. Get Dainz and other leaders to get more involved

10. Make me a Mod>>>just kidding

11. I don't know, the same old stuff going around

.......umm...i'm already confused.

I would like it if we could use HTML codes in the profiles. Also, there should be (if there isnt already) application forms you can fill out to become a mod. We should also be able to have a sort of "friends list" basically, people gte to see your favorite list so they can check out the poets they think are good.
