    Look at your life.

Do you really have a reason to actually be depressed?!?

    If you think so...

Think about what other people lives are...

-The ones who are used as sex slaves, never knowing if today they will die, who will rape them and for how long

-The ones who are abused and rape by family membes

-The ones who go to sleep and wonder if they will be alive in the morning, and if they will actually have something to eat, or even a glass of safe water

-The ones who are taken to run across a mined field.

-The ones who are used as slaves, sex, etc everyday

Now tell me...do you really have anything to be depressed about?!

yea i know what your getting at, and the fact that other people are suffering make me even more depressed. i cant help it, it happens in the weirdest moments, its just something i cant control

but do you have any other ideas?

Yes, we all go through times of depression because I went through a long time of it but now I just think about Men and Women over Sea's that are in the war.

They are the ones trying to survive everyday...every hour of their life.

Not saying nobody esle doesnt have reasons but think of the people that have it worse than you.

Things like that shouldn't depress you, they should upset you. Depression and being upset are to majorly different things. And second of all, you should be thankful you're not one of them.

But here is a question. Do you actually have things to be upset about? Or is it just a "My dad yelled at me", "My best friend is mad", "I am sad because I am bored after school?" Or is it a REAL thing to be depressed about.

Sorry for being so out there, but I have heard so many ppl on here always depressed, and they are depressed over the stupidest sh!t. It just really pisses me off, cause my sis is apparently "depressed" because she can nothing better to do.

yea i do hve reasons to be depressed:

my mate has just been in a car crash and cant remember sh!t all

all my mates have ditched me

    my bestie hates me

my mate has been trying to kill herself

    my parents are leaving me

and i have the flu (which i guess isnt really a reason)

Honestly, half that isn't depression. The friend being in a car accident, upsetting. The friend trying to kill themselves, bothersome. The rest, things that will pass. What do you mean your parents are leaving you?! Getting divorced?

I am sorry, but what you have here as depressing, no. Upseting, yes! Really think about it. Is it depressing. From all the things happening in the world, that is saviour to many. Friends come and go.

Friends who ditch you, are not very good friends. You shouldn't worry about it, life goes on. They'll get over it, or you'll find other friends. You'll get over the flu. Your parents will always love you. Your friend will either succeed with the suicide, or realize how selfish they are being. If they want to kill themselves, then I am sorry, but I have no respect for them. And you friend in the car, will either eventually recall you, or your friendship will be restored again. As in you, starting over.

None of these things are the end of the world situatons. Your suicidal friend is, they do need professional help by someone with a degree or a friend.

ew. what sort of thread is this?

Honestly, comparing reasons to be depressed? What a horrendous idea. A person having more reasons to be depressed doesn't invalidate another's lesser reasons. People are different. My great grandmother had it worse than BOTH of you, and she was never depressed. What difference does that make? If you truly are depressed, in a medical sense, what difference should it make (as far anyone's judgement) 'why' you're depressed? Get help anyway. Get treated for what's wrong. Sheesh... comparing reasons... that's sick.

Oh no this isn't about me personally. I wrote that wrong didn't I :S

I meant in general .. a kind of .. case study if you like.

This entire thread has been as I described it... sick.

If you think you're depressed, go get it checked out. Some people have disorders that cause them to become depressed with little or no triggers. Getting yourself out of depression is like hoping you'll cure yourself of meningitis just by sitting around and waiting for the pain to go away, or by hitting yourself to make the pain transfer (aka cutting) or to try to think happy thoughts, or to think about how people dying of cancer have it worse than you. Go to a doctor. Get antibiotics (in the case of this metaphor). Get better. Use modern medicine. There's no reason for you to pretend like you're living in Elizabethan times, when they'd drill a hole in your head to let the bad spirits out. Go to a psychiatrist. See if you have a disorder. if you do, see what sort of treatments there are. See if there is one that has side effects that you'd consider mild. Take it, get better. If it turns out you don't have anything, and have a relatively clean bill of health, then it'd be all the easier to move on. So go do something.

Take the medication. Or go back and say the medication isn't working.

I am sorry. Maybe you should think happy instead of always being so depressed. Stop thinking about all the bad things, and think about the good. Life is too short to stay "depressed".

i agree with sean you have to take the medication and continue with counselling it will help, if the medication isn't working tell your GP there are many different forms of anti-depressants some work for others, but your doctor will be able to find one that eventually youl find does work for you don't give up.

Maybe you should just do what yer sposed to be doing and then there won't be anything else to do and you won't need any suggestions. Why did you ask for suggestions when you KNOW what you need to do because you already HAVE medical and counselling help?
