This is to bad, I really liked Bob, he was a awesome poet, and a good role model. To bad he couldn't stay. I'm going to miss him. :(

Bob will be missed for his poetry, his honesty and his willingness to say the things that some are not comfortable in saying. Although this site will continue and new members will have no idea what they are missing...those of us that knew Bob through this site will be at a loss.

I think who ever was the cause of him doing so should be hung...my own person belief. I think it sucks...it's a total out rage. I love Mr. Bob and I'm going to miss him a great deal. Who ever did it...I hate you. I'm totally and completely crushed....UGH!! He is what makes this site so incredible and without him it just won't be the same...if it wasn't for his lovely lady I'd probably leave too.

Maybe it's the site. We're not really taking poetry seriously. Most people do not leave helpful comments, beg constantly for reviews, and blwo up at people when things don't go their way.

Believe me, if anyone thinks Bob 'ran away' from something about this site, they're belittling who Bob Shank is. He chose to leave, and that makes me feel terrible, but people will do their best to carry on in his stead.

I think that a man that impacted this community whether positive or negative like Bob did should have been gracious enough to leave a goodbye thread himself.
Maybe he didn't want to be melodramatic. Who knows.
Friends and fans deserve some kind of goodbye for closure.

Bob has a strong character, and will square off against anyone. So it kind of worries me as to why he didn't even say goodbye.
I hope everything is alright at home.

Maybe when the situation settles he will comes back and explain his sudden departure.

I hope all is well in the Shank household. He will be missed.. who am I going to argue against now. :(

I don't think he was obligated to give us closure. When you feel strongly about something you should do as YOU see fit. It's not anyone's obligation to give an explanation to make others feel better.

Bob was up to his neck in the crap of this website, like the really harsh side of things, that is where he held ground.

I really hope he left for something better.

I really hope more of you get involved so that maybe this place will be cool enough for him to come back.

Ps, chatbox, don't talk about being gracious in reference to Bob Shank, you don't have the understanding or right to say such things.

I, uh, posted this in saddness and depression, personally because someone treating Bob with disrespect makes me very sad/depressed, but here it is again...

Bob Shank (also Sluvious) has decided to leave Poems & Quotes. If you did not know this man or his work, you sincerely missed out not only on a legend but on an inspiration...

I'm very much saddened by his choice to leave, but he does state it is of personal belief and therefore I respect his decision.

However, I must be drawn to assume that someone/something on this site caused him to internally debate on the righteousness of his membership here.

So I guess this is a kind of plea...

Bob Shank was a beautiful encouragement, and the fact that anyone/anything could cause this site to become such a disappointment to him sickens me.

Please, let's all try to make this site a better place... Before all the good poets start leaving.

Those words are the gracious words I was waiting for, from this very fine gentleman. I spoke to soon.

I hope he comes back someday. He will be missed.

I cannot say much about Mr. Shank, because I never knew him. But so much I do know.
He helped form this site, and this site helped form me, to some extent.
It taught me to write poetry, albeit bad poetry, but words that mean something, that let out my feelings.
These words will not vanish with him, but perhaps some of the charms of this site will.

I didn`t know Bob too well.. but I have read many, many of his poems and they were terrific. I agree, I think we all died just a little inside upon hearing this. I am shocked to say the least by his departure. I will miss him a lot. The site will never be the same, as Bob Shank was such an inspirational writer.

I never knew I could be outraged and heartbroken at the same time.
Although I don't know the details that lead to this great man's departure, I hope he knows how many hearts he's touched not only with his brilliant poetry but also with his die hard beliefs.
He's definitely one of my hero's, I only pray that I can be as good a person as he is someday!
Whoever caused this has done this literary site a great disservice and if they are still here they certainly don't deserve to be!

Oh crap, that sucks big time, that's the worst news I heard this week! I'm still in shock and disbelief that such a strong pillar of this website has gone.

He will be sadly missed. I only wish he would reconsider.

I think Mr Shank`s departure is what`s best for him, and that is, in the end, the sole thing those who consider themselves his friends should care about.

Mr Shank did a great job with this site.

His departure has left our site forever wilted. Bob, you better come back!!! We all miss you greatly, especially your honest critiques and your inability to ignore what was truly wrong. You are a great man, and if it wasn't for your beautiful partner, I don't know if I could remain a part of this site.

Bob was special and important to so many people... my heart broke after reading this. I am so sad that he had to go, but I guess that he stood up for what he believed to be right. ugh this site's forever changed... I'm really going to miss him

Bob was a legend. I'm sure though the last thing he would have wanted was for people to making threads to his glory, when there are issues pertaining to this site, issues that perhaps added to him leaving, that we should be dealing with.

I'm not trying to tell any of you what to do, but if you really want to honour Bob, change this site for the better by getting involved with the discussions on rules etc, e-mail Janis asking him to come in here and do something.

I don't know what to say, but to say I am disappointed that he's not here. But if his beliefs are that strong enough to make him leave, I will support him.

^^^Here, here, I could not have said it better. That was beautifully written Eddie. For whatever reasons this gentleman left P & Q will only be known by the administrators of this site and may be they should start reflecting on and acting upon those issues not avoiding them???

There are many of us concerned with what is going on and do not think that you can always keep issues tightly guarded.

Bob didn't say it but I did...Ken is a child molestor. He's the scum beneathe the earth and should not only be removed from P&Q but from society as well. My own personal opinion.

Whoo... i only started in here a couple of months ago and ive seen Bob in a few different chat rooms and all, i thought he was fair and just, this shouldnt have happened, Ken has pushed out one of the great members of P&Q
