As much as I would like to
I cant forget
The times you beat me
The times you made me fall down
Spattered in my own blood
From the blows you swung at me
Breaking my bones
Ruining my love for you
I cant forget
Those hateful words
Telling me I shall die
And that you would make it so
Fearing for my life
And the life of my kids
I cant keep running from you
Like I have before
Something needs to be done
I cant forget
How you killed me inside
And left me there
Without saying sorry
And I cant forget
How happy I was
When they locked you away
For abuse

Hes gone because of me
I chose to let him go
I cant believe I didnt care
If he went to that party or not
Watching my boy drive off
In his little beatle car
Saying to myself
Hell be back in an hour or so
But it never happened
Its hours and hours past the time he should be home
And its my time to finally worry
My fears rise to my throat
When I hear the doorbell ring
I tremble down the hall
And hesitate to open the door
I get my courage up
And find officers standing on my porch
I fall to my knees
Screaming for him to come home
To appear behind the officers

"Ma'am Im sorry for your loss
But your boy was killed tonight
But the drunk driver
Hit him hard
And killed him instantly"

This cant be happening
He'll come home soon
I keep telling myself that
As I close the door
I wait upon hours
And still no return of my son
Then I knew suddenly
Because I didnt care if he had gone or not
Hes gone because of me

[This is about how a mother would feel if her son was killed from a drunk driver.. I tried my best]
