    Standing all Alone

    Lightning flashes, rain pours down,
In this distance, someone sits on the ground.
No umbrella, soaking wet, so cold,
There is a story that was left untold.

She went out with her friends, when she returned,
Her family was gone, which left her concerned.
Couch was gone, and pets as well,
The only thing left was the charger to her cell.

Before she left, her family said to her,
“I hate you”. Seeing her tears brought pleasure.
They said they were leaving, she didn’t believe,
But now an empty house, wiped her eyes on her sleeve.

Rain began to pour, sitting waiting for them,
Can’t believe they left her in the stormy mayhem.
Hoping they’re just at the store, and will be home soon,
As the rain turns her into a soggy prune.

Standing all alone in her front lawn,
    Standing there crying until dawn.
Finally gives up and walks inside,
Pulls out a gun, and died.

    ~*Who Cares?*~
Hope this is ok. let me know if it isn't.

    My Own Prison

    walking into the stiff room
an old man waits for me in his chair
he already has his sketch pad in his hand
why would he actually care about my problems
it was stupid to think that he ever did
all he wants is my parents money
to go home to his wife and kids; his happy family
laying down in the chair; I let out a deep sigh
the hour never seems to pass by quick enough
the first question breaks the silence
and the answers must not be too long
he can't get under my skin; I tell myself
every session is the same questions, same answers
it has become a pointless cause
I'm never going to let go of all this pain
will not let anyone else in too see the show
the walls have been built to think with stone
I guess I will always be stuck in my own prison

    4) Can't Fight the Moonlight
    By Emah

    Showered by the oceans,
    Swept up to the sky,
    Pounding echos through my heart,
    When every sunset dies,

I wiped the sadness from my face,
And defied my chance to break,
    Flames licking at my skin,
    I burnt upon the stake,

    Settled in forbidden lies,
    Resting without the real,
    Sleeping in unconciousness,
    Forgotten how to feel,

    I kissed their forehead,
    Fell to their quaking knees,
    To and fro I fled,
For each of their own pleas,

I want to help your aching souls,
Don't leave me here so dead,
I'm trying to fight every tear,
    Because of what you've said,

Love is to hate is to death,
My mind only thought of you,
I would never touch or think,
Of what you've put me through,

    Moonlit dancers swaying,
    Sticking from the sea,
    You cannot have the future,
If the past is what you flee.

    Is the contest still open?

If it is, could I reserve Stealing Society?

  • backporchpoet

    Stealing Society

    You find me and
Dismiss me as a common thief
    Just causing a little mischief
By slipping candy into my pockets

    But you don’t know
    The buzz of adrenaline zinging
    Through your veins as you
    Pull off another heist

    That first bite of chocolate
    With that invisible magic ingredient:
    Power, knowing that
    You’ve got what you shouldn’t

But then the chocolate falls flat
And you feel the stronger draw:
    Want. Desire. Lust.
And you want a bigger thrill than chocolate

    Now you stride so tall
New CD player tucked away so nice
As the security alarm goes off so loud
    You sprint away so fast

It’s sad to watch the fall
    Of a fellow adrenaline junkie
But, come on, everyone else does it
    Why shouldn’t I?

    Don't Cry

Please don't cry now little girl
'cause life has got you down
just go another round to twirl
    make your pretty laughing sound

Your friends have pretty bad hurt you
    and I think that's why you're sad
but I can't stand it that your eyes so blue
have stopped sparkling to remember the life they had

I know your head wants to hang low
that's why I'm telling you this
    please don't ever let go
because they think ignorance is bliss

So don't cry now little girl
I know those two have got you down
just go another round to twirl
because I really miss your laughing sound
