Broken

I have fallen from my stage,
Left cold, alone and...
Broken.
I was about to say my line,
When he walked in.
He looked at me
With those indigo eyes,
And I fell
Without even thinking.
He had left so long ago,
He had said goodbye,
This very night,
Three years ago.
He was the first to reach me,
Sitting in my broken pile on the floor,
Crying in my broken hudle,
On the now broken floor.
He was still beautiful,
Still young in looks,
But his eyes still held too much wisdom,
For his age.
He smiled at me and lifted me up,
I was crying and sobbing and wanting him to let me go,
Or hold me forever.
But he whispered in my ear,
"It'll be alright,
I'm not leaving this time,
And I'll stay with you, my love."
So now these broken body,
With a broken soul inside,
Might finally be able,
To mend.

You held me down tightly without a care,
And all I could think was this isn't fair.
My delicate heart is cracked into two,
'Cause of the evil sin you had to do.

Now when I see you, your head bows in shame,
'Cause you finally realize you're to blame.
And even though I'm not really okay,
My soft voice will tell the world someday.

Each night I cry, thinking of what you’ve done,
Taken away all happiness, taken all fun.
Not to sure why, but I still love you,
Despite all friendship we had between us is through.

You confuse my mind, each and every night,
You make me cry, yet keep me in this fight.
Make me want to die, but I’d miss you too much,
Just for the hope of getting one last touch.

Keep me alive, yet kill me inside,
Doesn’t matter to you how much I’ve cried.
You don’t care how I feel, or how much I care,
I love you so much, but you hate me? That’s not fair.

Don’t know how that’s possible. Kill me each day,

~Soldier~

Mom, I hope you're proud of me,
even though I lay here dead.
I'm sorry that you had to see,
what Sunday's paper read.

"Six American soldiers found dead,
as the result of a roadside bomb."
I know you said I should have stayed,
but either way I would have gone.

Now, that I look back on things,
I realize that I did wrong.
I wish I could have realized it,
before my funeral song.

I found out while in battle,
that the war had little reason.
The bullies against the nerds,
not God against the heathens.

Iraq, was like a movie,
where you can't believe the scenes.
America truly was the enemy,
"the ruiners of dreams."

Just another pointless war,
that the U.S. "had" to fight.
Instead of listening to George,
I should have done what was right.

Now, I lay here motionless,
listening to the priest.
Remembering how life was,
before I was deceased.

~sry i didnt take much time on this and it is bad...thats okay. i havent one a contest yet anyways...i might change it later, if i have time. this might be a little confusing, but this reminded me of my grandfather yesterday when my grandmother died andn he took it really hard. they were married a long time and this poem is about a girl who went through the same thing.~

You can't always be there. When I fall. Trying to catch me doesn't work at all. I know you care because you're always there. You can't always be there. When I cry. As the tears swell up in my eyes. You're more of a person than I could ever be. You must understand where I am coming from. You want the best, you want me safe and you need to know that it's just not me. You can't always be there. When I am scared. I feel so small, no bigger than an ant, but I don't want you there when I am scared. I don't want you there when I feel like nothing, zip, zero. Please quit trying to be my hero. You must understand. You can't always be there. When I fall.

Walking down the blazing streets
as cities among me burn.
Living in a world full of hate
taking the destruction we earn.

Stuck in this country alone
once united now divided.
Democrats and Republicans
lead us now instead.

A civilization once full of life
now uptight after an attack.
Never letting our guard down
always looking behind our back.

This is not how it should be
always fearing for our lives.
Worrying about how others see us
and not worrying about our kids and wives.

In a country led by a man so deaf
stuck in a country that is so blind.
Living in a country so stubborn
living as the outcast of mankind.
