False Comments

I wasn't really sure where to put this but something has really annoyed me tonight. I was reading through some comments on my poems, and found that a couple of times, people had commented twice. Each time saying what a great poem it was. Sorry, but if it was as good as you say, why did you forget and comment twice? If you really didn't think my poem was good, please don't say it is. I won't break down in tears. It does not bother me. If you don't like my poem, fair enough. Don't be as shallow as to say a poem is good when it is not memorable.
    Thank you.

You said it annoyed you and then it didn't bother you. Basically you contradicted yourself. And there's no point putting it in here because to be quite honest, no one that commented your poem is probably going to read this. Why not put it in your profile? :]x

It annoys me that people would comment twice and say that they like a poem when they clearly don't. What doesn't bother me is the fact that they didn't like it.

I'm posting it on the forum to see if anyone else has noticed it, and to say don't lie in your comments. The kind of people who can't be bothered to read a poem well enough, and who are simply commenting to get return comments, will not make an effort to read peoples profiles either.

Sarah, when there are two identical comments (especially right in a row), then the person probably hit the submit button twice. if you want to get rid of one of the commments, then simply hit the "complain" button on one of them.

These comments are not identical. They have been submitted on different days. Sometimes, even changing their opinion slightly, showing that they have not given it any serious thought.

But thank you for trying to explain the minds of these people :/

I know makes you feel like nobody even read it right

It might just be that they have read the poem before, but thought they didn't comment on it, but in most cases I seriously doubt it.

ohhhh, well that's different, LOL.. I dont' know WHAT they're thinking... ;)

but yeah, if they didn't read the poem well enough to remember it... and didn't take time to look and see if they did comment already...then they may just be doing it for the comment award.

that also kind of bugs me...I have seen someone just copy and paste exact same comment and used on many poems...I hate that crap

The only comments I really like on my poems are the ones that say "It's good but..."
When I get constructive critism, I feel that people have actually bothered to read them.

And I really hate really "that was so beautiful" all the time, when my poems have absolutely no beauty in at all. Do these people actually bother reading?

I hate that too! When people just say 'great job! well done 5/5', just so that they get return comments. Those comments are useless and don't help at all. I never read anyone's poems who has put something like that on my poems. The comments I like are ones when they actually say what was good and bad about my poem and tell me how to improve.

Hey im pretty honest in my comments as Sarah knows and I expect the same courtesy in return.

However for alot of the people within the site it becomes more of a popularity contest, a boosting of egos than a serious committment to becoming a better writer.

I dont however believe in being rude or nasty but in providing feedback the writer can actually learn from and use.
