Student-Teacher Affairs

How bad do you think it is for a student to have an affair with a teacher? I know they could get off the job for it, and it could be considered assault according to the age, but what if they really love eachother? It seems to be such a scandal to everyone...I don't know.

Well for one thing, i think that's messed up. A teacher should not be having an affair with a student. If anyone finds out, they will most likely wind up in prison. Even if they really love eachother. A teacher and a student having an affair doesn't look to good. It makes you look easy and like you're trying to get good grades in exchange. That is wrong...VERY wrong.

I personally think it is stupid. If it is love, leave them alone. But thats just me.

But, at 16 here in is legal to get married etc, yet it is illegal for a teacher to have a relationship. I feel that if it is legal and the parents approve etc, it should be ok. But anyhting younger than the legal limit is a no go.

Hmph. I know it's very wrong by law, but spiritually, can't people just let it go? Unless it's assault and the student or one of them is forced into doing something, why can't it just exist as a normality?

Society is all wrong, they make laws for unnecessary things, and allow boisterous acts to be legal. o.O

If the student was in sixth grade...then what the heck...that is wrong...if the student is an adult...I don't really care...life is about making choices...

by the way...the story is true...a teacher had an affair with a sixth grade student...she went to jail...for 12 years...came out and married the student now living with each other with two kids...this was on the news

Omg , you all are going to think I am crazy... The first person I have ever been in love with was a teacher I had...ha ha.... I didn't realize I was in love with this teacher until I figured-out the feelings I was having.... I thought I just really admired her for how much she taught me.... No, it was much more than that on my behafe... I think she figured it out....What is sad is that when I went into her class, I could bairly read/write(eighth grade), and when I left her class, I was one of the smartest kids around with my writing skills.... She and I grew close, but when she figured out my real feelings, she won't talk to me anymore... I would love to tell this teacher I am really sorry, but I was just a kid with a stupid crush.... I would like for her to know that besides that stupid crush, she really was my true hero...Without her help, I would have never been able to read/write!!

"Well for one thing, i think that's messed up. A teacher should not be having an affair with a student."

So as long as the person is -not- a teacher, it's alright?

Not saying that it's not alright; at least not by my standards.

"A teacher and a student having an affair doesn't look to good."

Neither did interracial marriages or homosexuality, but a majority of people have come to accept it.

I find it hypocritical of a society who would shun a teacher and student in love because of their age gap, yet at the same time, would welcome Hugh Hefner and his girlfriends with open arms.

"It makes you look easy and like you're trying to get good grades in exchange."

Unless the person wears revealing clothes to seduce the teacher and are very public with their intentions, I don't see how anyone would think they're "easy".

Plus, are you 100% sure it always the student who is the seducer?

Can it not be the other way around?

    "That is wrong...VERY wrong."

Then what is, by your definition, right?

It's not so much wrong as it is unfair. Maybe those are one in the same. Of course statutory (sp?) rape should be upheld, there is a very good reason behind such a law! However, assuming the student is a legal adult as is the teacher, there should be no government law preventing their intimate relationship. That should be part of the school's "rules." As job associates are required to keep business and personal seperate, school and personal should remain seperate. It's unfair for other students, when a single student is OBVIOUSLY favored conciously or subconciously by a teacher. Anyway, that's my two cents that will probably change tomorrow. HA! Change. Pun intended.

    Ok...

"And I'm never having kids anyway, you brainwashed person.

P.S. Nice edit. I still read what you wrote."

    ^ How very petty.

It doesn't matter what you wrote, I don't like that Ms. Taylor believes she's hot stuff. She's obviously victim of distorted self-image.

Liz, you are not brain-washed or oblivious. How very ignorant and presumptuous of Angelina to say such things.
