~What Once Was~

A relationship bound by the court,
two parents yearning to abort.
One child's postpartum deport,
a life, from the start, out of sorts.

The help of two elders, they sought,
a custody battle, never fought.
Drug addict parents, got caught,
important lessons, never taught.

A baby that was left behind,
consequences of a legal bind.
A lifestyle of a different kind,
viewpoints from a distorted mind.

A family separated by years in time,
a life with a different rhythm and rhyme.
Two people, making up for another's crime,
always living off of their last dime.

A difficult situation from the start,
a unique picture, of an unpopular art.
A family, nearly torn apart,
two grandparents, certainly, off the charts.

An unwanted boy, now full grown,
held together by seams, left un-sewn.
Approaching life with a whole different tone,
hoping, some day, to live life on his own.

Engulfed in quivering fire
Drowned in sinful desire
Blackened by the dead
Secrets left unsaid

Tattered to the ground
Blood chains go unbound
Eyes masking hate
Moving away from fate

A Fallen part of me
Embrace midnight thee
My wings are still stained
Memories I can't regain

Beating heart fades
Ice veins are made
Veiling all the light
The fallen will still fight

Path of death proceed
Dying in times of need
Feathers up in flames
Devil's idea of games

Draining from the core
Waiting just for more
Whips and broken bones
Heart of cracking stones

A memoir for rebels
For their lost and woe
Battle of life and death
Awaiting final breath

5.A Cape and a Mask

He gallops down a trodden path
dark, murmering woods surrounding
On his back waves a black cape
on his face a mask

The mask of black hides his face
his worries, and his pain
but most of all behind that mask
hides a love greater than all

behind him the cape unfurled
lies a ever smaller castle
on the high far balcony
cries the lone maiden

for her love rides away from her
hidden in the woods of darkness
his black cape and black mask
hide him from even himself

The Embers are dying

Dark is this ghostly summer night. The
silence is crushing me. It fills me with
nothing. The moon is gone and the stars
dead. They wept in their suffering. But
died, nevertheless. Thus works the cruel
hand of fate; Murdering those dearly
needed, letting live those for whom few
care. And I remain.Many know my name,
but I know no one. This is destroying me.
It poisons my thoughts. I`ll cry myself
blind by the fire again. The embers are
dying. They glow in their grief. Let fade
the fires that enflamed my aching heart.
The smoke is shapeless. I know no shame.
Leave the wreckage of myself be. I`ll
drown in my own arms. I need never
breathe again. Set free the hearts I so
blindly have conquered. Their eyes are
lost, and they smile like ghosts. Will
anyone save me? I`ll die in the wind and
burn with the stars. Will no one find me?

The Last to Fall

It was just a normal day for their family
The father kissed the mother on the lips
Rubbed his child’s head as he walked out the door
Every weekend he had these business trips

Wives always get those conscious feelings
And this wife knew something wasn’t right
So she prayed his business deals go over well
And let nothing happen on his ten hour flight

He called her when he landed safely
It was such a relief to know he was ok
But his precious, innocent family
Didn’t realize didn’t realize what would happen today

Only three hours into wheeling and dealing
This husband got a nerve racking call
Every business like his in the surrounding area
Have been bombed and were starting to fall

He knew it would only be minutes
Until his 5th floor would be hit
When he dialed for his wife’s phone
All the phone towers decided to quit

Being the Christian man he was
He said, “Lord I understand if it’s my time to go
But please dear God let me call my family
So they won’t be so surprised when someone delivers the memo”

He tried and tried and no dial tone picked up
He fell to his knees and he heard sirens around town
Everyone was running around the office
Knowing that their building was soon to fall down

Kneeling by his chair he heard his phone beep
A text message came on his screen from his wife
“Baby I’ve been watching the news
And I’m so terribly scared for your life”

He text her one final “I love you”
As he heard the bombs in his building explode
Wondering if he could make it out the doors
Wondering if the doors were locked with a code

His wife heard on the news they said,
The last building had now fell
She looked at her phone as it said one new message
It read, “I just barely made it out through the stair wells”

He was able to call her and he said,
“My building might have been the last to fall
But I’m one of the only men standing
And I knew God would allow me to make this call”

Umm, maybe a suggestion.

A used to be angel
Pure, honest, and sweet
Always doing the right thing
Perfect in every way
But deep inside her heart
A demon longed to break free
To take over that pure heart
And turn her into one of the devil's angels
One day he succeeded
After a strong fight he won
And her perfect angel wings
Were replaced by the wings of a demon
And her beautiful blue eyes
Finally turned red
And her angel's halo dissapeared
She wa dragged into the devil's palace
And he looked down on her with a sneer
And on her head he placed
A demon's Halo

Every time i see you
My heart rises in my chest
When you walk into the room
My body freezes
And i forget how to move
I look into your icy blue eyes
And my heart melts
Anyone can see
That there's magic at work here
Where others see a hard, cruel tyrant
I see a man that loves me deeply
I know i shouldn't love him
I know I'm on the wrong side
But when he holds me close
I forget about it all
All i think about is how much i love him
It's like a spell
So it's obvious that there's

Revelations of the dead (12)

All my life's been strange and hectic
I can't get stuff out of my head
Like how much I love someone
But sacrifice myself to secrecy instead

You can't tell me it's okay
If you never really knew
But somehow, in my heart
I seem to know you do

That you've went through pain
That barely anyone could bear
That I'm not the only one stuck in the rain
When I'm alone, you're always there

I just wish with all my heart
That I could be next to you
