Contest Questions

I believe there`s only one poetry contest on this site - weekly, correct? And since there`s no way to enter that, do the mods just choose whichever ones they like best? I think that there should be one bigger contest.. like once a month. One that you have to enter and the people on the site [ along with the mods ] vote on which ones should win. =D anyone agree?

Yes, we the Mods choose and vote on the winners for every week. And yes you automatically enter when you submit a poem to the site.

As for the Monthly contest, I really don't think it would be a bad idea.

And there would also be the problem of having all your friends vote for eachother or whatever. It wouldn't be fair.

I guess you two are right too, but I think there could be some positive things about a monthly contest. I would think most people on this site would know that voting for people just because they`re friends would be wrong. But I definitely see where you`re coming from.

i'm pretty sure there will be people that will cheat the system. i think it's a bad idea to have everyone vote on the contest poems for the month. the voting system on this site is already screwed up enough with people complaining of downvotes, this will probably just make more complants, it's already annoying enough with how people complain about it. i think we should just get rid of the voting system anyways.
