Monkey Escape Scars(wow someone should sue the zoo!)

O.k. haha yes this is about cutting but no it just a quick question.
for one I AM AN EX CUTTER! and I am proud that I have stopped.
however is it o.k. to wear short sleeves now?> I ofcoarse don't have cuts now but I have big thick purple scars that are puffy always and yeah...do I have to still hide everything?almost everyone that knows me knows what I have done since after I was sent to the hospital they wondered and found out why I was sent from school more then once.
and it doesn't really bother me anymore but is it common curtesy(sp?) to hide them still???

*oh and the title is what I had to say to my little cousin a while back.haha...

um ok well well done to you for stopping it and being proud of yourself for stopping yes where short sleeves if everyone knows then go for it be proud i use to be in this sittuation but now i am proud to show of my scars xxx

your scars are apart of you, like mine are apart of me. If you are comfortable to wear short sleeves than do so. I wouldnt say, Im proud of my scars the person above but Im not afraid too.

thanks I just don't want people to say I'm wearing sgort sleeves for attention....since the one time I did some girl started rumors and yelled at me and etc etc

Dont worry about what people think, you know the truth so dont give for what people say. I know it hurts at times but really those are the people that are looking for attention and just trying to start something over nothing. need to talk more? just private message me.

id say yes, iwore a short sleves the other day first time in 2 years and it felt good at first its strnage kinda cold even if it is a really hot day but if there scars then its your past and no-one should have to hide there past if they dont want to!!!!! go you, show them what your made of!! lilkit

I know what you mean about those purple puffy scars... I have enough of them. And I also am an EX cutter. I now have many scars and they make me uncomfortable sometimes... Only because people ask me "Whoa, what happened to your arms?" And I usually just say that my cat did it, even though it's obvious that a cat is incapable of doing such damage, but I don't think it's anyone's business... That's like asking a cancer patient why he/she is bald. In my opinion at least...

I now use Mederma, a scar therapy solution to minimize the appearance of my scars. I am very unproud of them and regret ever mutilating myself, but it's in the past and it still doesn't stop me from wearing what I want to wear.

And the whole thing about common courtesty... You shouldn't have to hide part of your body from society just because they think it's weird or don't approve or whatever. What's common courtesy is that they respect you and realize that you have SCARS, not CUTS. And who's to judge anyway? We all have problems and we all deal with them in different ways.
