the past two years at graduation, I wrote poems for my husbands seniors... each one getting an acrostic of their name... in 2003, I just did thier first name, for 2004 I did their WHOLE name... first middle AND last! That was some work! If you want me to, I will post these for your viewing pleasure... :) let me know. I did one for Timothy r (that's the title) A few years ago, I did a variation of an acrostic... I wrote a birthday poem to a friend and and lined up the lines so that down the center of the poem read: HAPPY BIRTHDAY.

I tried writing one about my boyfriend. I used his name and it came out alright, but I definately need more practice with writing that way...

acrostic poems are really difficult to write, ive wrote one decent one. i think once u get them right they can be excellent. but its difficult trying to find the right words to go with the correct letters.

    Hmmmm, advice on writing acrostics....

well... I really don't know what to say... If I am doing one for a Person, I always sit and think about that person for awhile and write down things I think of... or feelings evoked when I think of them... and then look for words that match letters in their names... (Thesaurus comes in handy here!)

I must admit, that I really struggled with some of those acrostics... and am not totally happy with them all!

Yeah, I tried writing them, but I got so sick and tired of writing out peoples names and those descriptions I just, kinda, gave up after a while. Y'know? Gotta find your own style. Peace, Love and empathy.

I wrote an Acorostic poem which spells out on both sides of the poem...

I also wrote it as a dedication to my love...
IT spells on the left end "Thomas loves trincy" And on the right side it spells "Trincy loves Thomas"...

I don't know how many hours i sat to finish this poem... :(
Ughhh my head hurts.. First time in my life i repented for having I's and O's in names...lol!

    Subtle analogies show my personality,
Tombstone written with a guilty plea.
    Eloquence...lost and found,
Vigil conscience wallowing in surreal whereabouts,
Even the gods could not control my mind.
No one knows me like I do.

David, a very interesting use of punctuation indeed.
