Ive never made a contest before but I thought Id try it!

I only have five titles to pick from and once all of them are finished I will judge---

Requirements:
~It must be a new poem
~Must have a title that I give (obviously)

Thats it! And by the way you can reserve titles, but only for at maximum of two days--

Holding On

Holding on,
to each day
as if it’s only
a step away.
Keeping mermories
stored away in the
back of our brain.
Thinking we can
take them out
as we wish.
Remembering every
single kiss.
But what if we can’t even
Remember yesterday
or the day before
what if we keep
searching and searching
and find nothing more
than the mermories of today
What if we keep
Holding on, to each day
as if it's only
a step away

FAR FROM PERFECT

As night swallows daylight
And the darkness falls around me
I keep walking
Towards nowhere
My headphones over my ears
Music seeping out
My eyes lined with eyeliner and mascara
Ruined with the tears
That Ive cried
Cause Im Far From Perfect
Ill never be perfect
And never could if I tried
I escape my pain
With every step I take
And ever tear that falls down my face
Feeling a little bit better
With the way I am
Not feeling so guilty
For being less then perfect
By the end of the night
I realize again
Ill always be
Far From Perfect

Different from the rest

"What is that thing covering her face?"
"Why does she have that weird colored skin?"
They whisper about her Egyptian accent
And think its weird she studies the Muslim religion

"I can barely even eat my food,
Fatty's rolls over here are makeing me sick"
He is only sitting a couple inches away
I bet he's so tired of hearing it

"Ha! That girl taped her shoes!"
They assume her family is very poor
Little did they know the hospital has their money
Trying to heal her brothers injuries from war

"That kids pants are up to his ankles"
He looks so stupid and ugly in them
To bad they don't know his father died
And his mother always abuses him

People think those kids aren't ordinary students
Ones a foreign exchange the other is fat
Two of them can't afford their clothing
Whatever happened to sympathy for that?

I try to understand the accented girl
She just came here from another country
You expect her to know whats going on?
With a new currency to know and a variety of new munchies

So what he's somewhat overweight
It's probably people who crack on his size
That makes him the way he is
I wonder what you look like in his eyes

Yes the girl taped her shoes
I agree it does look somewhat funny
But what happened to keeping comments to ourselves?
The girl pays for her brothers surgerys with her money

Ok so he has high-waters on
His mom cares less of what he needs
But only for herself and new man
And they can get some more weed

I show the students friendship and kindess
Like no one else does or wants to
So I was the one different from the rest
Because I'm nice to them unlike all of you

I still need Eternity!!!

Diminished Hope

Planet blue a perfect shell,
With the energy to evolve,
Precious life and beauty,
But many questions left to solve,

Flesh, skin and bloody veins,
Desires of mankind,
Emotion pulls our every string,
Hearts attracted to the bind,

Although we feel the slightest touch,
And cry to every star,
How are we yet so vunerable?
Of our dying planet's scar,

Blame is put upon ourselves,
Although we shalln't care,
Death of our only home,
But nothing to compare.

YAY! Another amazing poem! Only one left-eternity. I'm unreserving it because Sean Dohr hasn't submitted it yet and it has definately been more than 2 days

ive kept checking and checking the excitements killing me

Eternity

Take a look at that man running so blind
everytime i see him, he stares back at me
something must be wrong in his mind
or may be he is just trying to run from reality

Look at that man pretending to be so nice
with all that fake smile all around his face
and the tears he hides paying the price
for it seems as if he has lost his life's race

Did you notice that man with a bleeding chest?
seems as if he is searching for something somewhere
digging inside his own flesh to find the remaining best
of the words he ever uttered as his last prayer

Could you see him falling within his own eyes
he has been like this since the end of eternity
wonder why only i could hear his silent cries?
may be only he knows what its like to be me

Ok I'll post the results by the latest friday, but I'll try to get them done tonight!

I have the results! I will post them in a minute--First, I want to say that I love all the poems that you guys submitted. It was really hard to choose which place a poem would be in--- For the people that tied in 4th I will tell you how, in my opinion, you could improve them.

1st place-Diminished Hope by Wings Of Flames
2nd place-Far From Perfect by ~4ever-n-ever~
3rd place-Eternity by End Of Eternity
Tied for 4th place-
Holding On by IfIhide11 and Different From The Rest by *Chelsey-Lynn*

IfIhide11-I think that you could improve your poem by breaking up each line differently. As I was reading it some parts didn't sound write because of that reason.

*Chelsey-Lynn*- The flow fo your poem is kind of off in my opinion. I think that if you shorten the lines and kind of compress each thought it will smooth out.
