I Dare You NOT To Be Moved

Regardless of your beliefs. Regardless of your social conventions. Regardless of your psychology. Your philosophy. Your attitude. Your pain. Your age...

    Please watch this video:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WjPrL3n63yg

And tell me you're not humbled and profoundly moved by it.

There are some truly special people in this world. And it's incredible how often we forget this among the death, famine, war, pestilence, Big Brother, distrust, vengeance, horror, arrogance, hatred and violence.

Thanks Ed for the link. I felt like a complete ass thinking about the VERY minor things that I complain about in my life. Nice wake up call. Couldn't help but cry while watching it. It was so awesome & so sad at the same time. Funny the little things we take for granted in life, huh?

One question though...who was singing I can only imagine? Sure didn't sound like MercyMe.

It was so beautiful it makes you feel there''s beautiful people out there, even if there doesnt seem to be.
    It's a motivator.

Thank you for sharing it with us.

I loved it. It made me cry. I can't believe i don't take the time to think about all those who are special in this world. We take so many things for granted. More people need to stop drowning in their own self-pity, and make the best of life.

I used to sing this song at the camp i went to. It really brings back memories, and makes me think. Thank you for sharing it.

It was a very nice clip.

It makes urban "problems" look small in comparison.

Heheh, and it helped me find youtube.

It also made me want to run. If a 65 year old pushing a wheelchair can race, then so can I!!

Confused? OK, lemme break it down for you:

    Man has disabled son.

Disabled son tries as best he can to lead "normal" life.

Man devotes entire life to son.

To show devotion, man competes in triathlons with disabled son along for the ride.

    Still confused?

    Stay with me.

I dunno about you, but I doubt (at 35) I could even compete in a modern triathlon. Go look up the requirements of one. Even the short sprint made me tired, reading about it!

    Still confused?

Then look at the world you live in, closely. And then watch it again.

You are getting soft in your old age Ed.

I watched it, and wasn't moved at all. I remained in my seat expecting to be knocked over, crying my eyes out and nothing happened, what a crock.

    You suck.

I cant believe what I read above....that makes me cry...thats why I'm so scared for the future..being a person of the future and to have people say...I wasnt moved that someone would devoted their time to their handicap son..how sad..

Ed that was beautiful I have tears streaming down my face because of the song...I love the song and then the story..I admire you so much for being moved by that...its wonderful to have a sentimental guy in the world..need a few of those...

K.U.A: "That doesnt do anythign for me call me mean and what not but i really dont care."

Well of course it didn't. You're a 16-year old boy. I would only expect someone of your age and sex to be moved if it was a video of Britney Spears flicking her bean.

    ^hahaha, nice!

I unfortunately don't have the ability to view movies at the moment, but I read Ed's summary, and it sounded pretty moving to me...

I saw another version of this recently, with a different soundtrack. But I forgot what it was, and now I'm quite quite drunk and less inclined to look for it than I am to laugh again at KUA.
