Presence of admins?

So what's with the lack of presence with Janis and Dainz? I know they have lives - as we all do. But It's been at least 4 weeks that I have NOT gotten any replies back recently. And at least 5 months from past e-mails. Can I please speak to a mod who can actually help me with this whole not being able to access the chat room? I'm getting very frustrated.

OK I'll give my response first as a user of this site and then as the admin for another site:

User: it bothers me that a feature which is clearly popular (the photo upload) is so badly neglected that it is still broken after at least 3 months. I know it's been reported because I've reported it. I even consulted with a web developer who gave suggestions as to the solution.

So from a user's position: bad form guys. Although I have seen Dainz give a forum response somewhere recently.

Admin: It's hard, sometimes, to keep a tight reign on everything that's going on in your professional life. There are issues to handle which are not apparent to the casual user, and emails (and their answering) occupy a lot of time. The site I run (www.seniorleaguehockey.com) has a fairly low volume of work for me during the summer, and people almost always get a reply within 24 hours, and pretty much every technical issue is resolved in that time too. But in the winter when we have a higher hit-rate (and customer base) it's not always so easy to keep on top.

And finally: unless I'm mistaken this site is completely free. There isn't even a "Support P&Q: Make a Donation" button where you could let Janis & Dainz know you appreciate what they've brought you by giving something back to pay the bandwidth and development costs. Lot's of sites do this; a classic example being the marvelous Wikipedia site.

it may seem like the site is neglected by admin sometimes, but don't forget there may be a reason.

    This is worth noting, too:

    Forum: Moderators talk
Pretext: You can access this forum only if you are a moderator.

I would suggest the site admins make this section invisible, because we can see the last time someone posted, and that (to me) suggests we can gauge how attentive the mods are as a community as a whole. Presumably many discussions take place in live environments such as IM chats, but it's hardly reassuring when there's no activity visible in that section.
