Losing a Writing ability

Has anyone learned a new skill but then forgets their old skill?

I use to write freestyled-non-rhyming poems all the time. Since I started to write forms and rhymes, it's harder for me to go back to my old ways.

I haven't forgotten my old skills... But I do go more for poems with form now, because that's what I like.. It has nothing to do with the fact that I lost the capability of writing a free-style poem...

Ohh.. my poetry style seems to change every few months. But I think it's based on my emotional mood.

Aye, I would say mood dictates what you write more than skill. It's not that skills are lost (it's like riding a bike) but that the inclination is no longer there.

Hum, I've never ridden a bike in my life...
But there are probably other examples.
But yes, it's like that, you don't ever truly forget.

a different way for me a know how to draw and to color them in such a artistic way but then when starts to write poems i forgot that and when i tried to draw again my hand are not like the previews day and now i just burried the drawing ability like what a great painter says painting is an art that sees more than feel and poems are an art that feel more than seen (something like that ) lol

There's plenty of time for you to be the next Mark Twain. :-)
