i was just wonderin, does anyone read the other comments on a poem when they comment, to see what other people thought of that poem, or do you just read it write your comment?

if you do read the comments, is that before or after you comment yourself?

i often read others comments as i find it interesting to see how other people have responded to or interpreted the poem

When I go to the request thread I click on a thread to see who's offering comments then I check to see what kind of comments they leave. If they leave ones that offer no help, I avoid their threads.

I read the comments before I post mine, for the same reason Kristen stated. I don't wanna be repeating what's already been said.

I usually read other peoples comments so I don't put the same thing someone else has put. But I tell them what I think personally of the poem not what others think because it's all personal opinion.

As long as it's not a generic comment-"this is good", "I like ths"-I want to know Why you like it, or why you don't like it, what you can relate to and can't-criticism should be constructve yet brutally honest. So when someone takes time to analyze a poem, or offer their interpretation, or off constructive criticism-I appreciate that more than anything. And thank you all who take the time to feel and comment in depth.

I never read the other comments that were posted before I comment or after . As Makeshift has stated, I don't want my own thoughts and opinions swayed. I like to create my own analysis so that I can get the full meaning and understanding of the poem.

The most comments are the same. Some comments, i think, were added with copy&paste and thats very stupid. In other poem forums they discuss the poem by writing a comment. In my opinion the comments here seem very stupid and are like: Woow, like this poem or aww, great poem, liked it 5/5. Thats uninteresting for me and seems to have no content. But also here are some poets writing some good comments on poems. In my opinion comments have to be more than just saying good or well written. There is also a rating system say, how anyone find a poem. Comments have to discuss a poem... Am I wrong?

I write my comment before reading other peoples and always skip any that begin with "wow".

Much like Bob it's only the metaphorical poems that I peruse comments on to find out what other readers got from it and if the intention of the writer was different from the result.

I sometimes read other comments sometimes I don't read them at all. Sometimes a poem is so deep that wow is all u can say. I would like to see more of people telling how the poem touched them. I would also like honest critism on my writing.
