Will someone please tell me why the rewards symbol is so darn important?

I always thought that the reward was improving your skill as a writer, but most importantly touching another individual's life and finding out later that somehow your words reached them and helped them in their time of need.

Hmmm... I dunno maybe I am wrong or too old fashion, but really I do not nor does anyone else need a gold, pink, or blue award by their name to prove they can write...

Then again that is only my opinion, but one that I am standing by.

Hey, give it a break, it's just a question. You don't have to be all in her face. I've thought about that idea too, but people only accept necessary changes.

No one is in her face or coming down on "her". We are mearly stating our own opinions and how little the awards are to us.

I even asked for someone to please explain why the awards seem to be so darn important!

Next time might I suggest that you read carefully what is written before you jump to conclusions.

She asked a simple question and I do not see anywhere in the comments where she was attacked in any way shape or form!

PS... If you feel that my comment has attacked anyone then please do me the honor and report it! I stand by what I say and have no shame or reason to deny it.

I think it's a good idea. I mean, I'd like it just out of plain curiosity. Not really as a goal to get to then next award color.

I can understand the curiosity, but in all honest the awards will not help one improve on their writings and in my opinion does not serve a real purpose here.

Don't jump on people because they are asking a question! Everyone has the right to join and be a member of this site, despite their intentions. If, in fact, the awards do matter to this member, we should heed her suggestion and not banter aimlessly about mere opinions. Enough of the antagonistic tongue-slapping, let's not discourage people from asking questions.

I do not expect an immature response and hope not to recieve one. I am merely annoyed at the tone that is used within the forums.

    Sean:
No one was jumping on anyone for asking a question. As a matter of fact I thought that this discussion was already cleared up.

If you feel that I am tongue slapping anyone or being rude then as I asked earlier please report it.

As far as I am concerned this discussion is totally over...

In the future it would be best that once a subject is done and resolved that it be left alone.

I do not discourage any member from asking a question, and in the same manner I recommend that you take the same advice that you have given.

If you were to read through my post you would see where I specifically asked for someone to please tell me why the awards seem so important to them and then posted what I thought the true rewards were.

I am allowed to state my opinion on any discussion board, and I actually understood why some are curiose once they explained a little more to me why they wanted to know.

Though I can understand the curiosity, which is only human, I still feel that the awrds are worthless and the only rewards that matter are those that I stated in my earlier post.

It's all in the tone...once again. Also, why do you continuously ask to be reported, is that what you desire... I certainly hope not. What makes you think that my post was solely directed at you, there is no need to go on the defensive. I am not looking for an argument. If you were offended by my post, then so be it. Hopefully there are no hard feelings. Whew!
