AM I A PERSON WHO CAN BE A POET?

I want honest answer from senior writers. After seeing some of my poems, what is your opinion about my future as a poet?
I need honest answers as I may decide my future based on ur answers.

No one can look at your poetry and tell you if you're going to be a a poet. That's like saying your highschool grades deem your success in life. That being said, I looked at a few of your poems and they're kind of basic; This means nothing at all besides that you should study the craft more, maybe master the grammar so you can create your own; read a lot of poetry and pay attention to what you like -- maybe memorize your favorite poems -- and it will definitely lead to the overall improvement of your writing. You've got your whole life to do it. Also, asking people on here seems a bit silly unless you're lookin for the ol' strokin' of the ego ;) [See above post]

Think of it this way. A poet is a person that writes poems goran you have pleased at least
20 people on this site. My feeling is that poetry is an art, and an art is dependant on pleasing an audience. You are on my favorites mainly because I can relate to much of your inspiration to write. It seems that poetry has taken on a life of own if we view it as something just out of our reach

as you may know, many poets didnt go into it as a career, they wrote and oublished poems while doing another profession.
You usually dont get paid with money, but with a copy of a book which your poem has been published.
its up to you, but you have talent, and anyone can do anything they want id they just try hard enough

i can see that u can be a good poet,ur so smart u have the right words at the right time.many ppl could look at ur poems and not like them, many others will, it depends on ur style and how it attracts ppl, some, who actually don't like ur style, will be attracted to it, it depends on u and how u can shiver the people, or make them smile or cry. i like ur poems...

dont depend on what others think of you. someone will always lie (not implying that anyone has)
if you focus too much on what the other people want from your poetry, you'll start writing pieces you dont believe or don't like. be your own judge.
listen to converstations, watch old english movies (they have great words :) ) and just write because you love to do it. no other reason.

but only soo many people can be a good poet.

Anybody can be a poet. It doesnt matter how good or bad you think you are. Your poems are very good and you seem to take a lot of time in writing them. If you would like to become a poet, then become one! Try contacting publishers with example of your poems and take it from there. You can all but try. Good Luck.

Poetry is a personal thing.I wrote for 15 years without anyone ever seeing my poetry(until a girlfriend stumbled across some and suggested I submit).Poetry is a self therapy, a purging of emotions, an expression of strong feelings and meanings, and so much more.If you have that, you are a poet.There is also the desire to touch the hearts and minds of readers.But whether you write for yourself or others does not matter.As long as you have the passion to write is all that matters.There are good poets and bad poets.One is always improving every time they write.There is much you will learn along the way, but as I said, the main thing is the passion to write, to express thought and emotion, for whatever reason.

People can`t just tell yu whether yu can be a poet or not. If it was that simple to do such a thing, a heckuva lotta people could be poets or whatever else they want to be. Poetry is a way to express yourself, to write down what you feel. Being a poet isn`t simply just a career, it`s something that shold be persnal to you. I agree with the Gary guy that commented before me.
