Ok. I want to write something. Like a short story. Something like that. But once I go to start it, I can't get any words down. I don't know where to start or anything. Any one use certain techniques or anything? And is it best to write it or type it out on Microsoft Word? Or does it matter? Help!

(P.s-Yes I have written short stories before but my mind is sort of in a desert. Lol.)

jot/type up ideas... then it'll all come in together... just focus on what you want to be in the story... then eventually the words'll come..

I usually type, because I get writer's cramp easily due to weak wrists... so I'll be in the middle of a brilliant idea, but will have to stop writing because my hands hurt so much, and then suddenly I've stopped writing altogether... but basically write the way you are most comfortable with.

well, why don't u get urself a paper and a pen at first, to write a stry no matter hw short it is, u should fitst have geneeral ideas,, write ur general ideas...and then day after try having few notes on the paper of the things u want in ur story cz it'll make it a lot more easier, u can type it on micsrosoft, it's easier for mistakes , u'll directly know them, bt at first, try typing ur nots on a paper, even a short stry may take months ok? dont think it;s easy if u wanna make it worth it

^ I agree. Write it out because usually thats faster (for me anyways) and then type it out because it'seasier to read and easier to critique/fix up if need be :)

As for going blank, you're so not alone on that lol

    Good luck!
