should we change our poems for someone elses ideas because personally i dont think its original poetry if someone has destroyed it by putting their view on it because poems shouldnt be messed with if they are good because when the writer changes it for someone else satisfaction its not 100% their work is it ? understand?

As long as you are satisfied with your poem, it shouldn't matter what other people think. But that being said, it is good to take advice, because ya never know, in your poem you could be sayign something that isn't insulting in it's nature or the way you meant it, but you could have worded it wrong and not have known it, so when somebody tells you to change it then it would be a good idea =)

Or if your grammar is not right, then that's good also. As for the content, it's YOUR poem and you should have the freedom to do as you like with it.

People give advice on how they think it can be better. it's your choice whether you do it or not.

There's been numerous times that people have suggested I switch a stanza or a couple of lines because it made more sense in a different order. Almost everytime they were right. I welcome the suggestions because in turn it's made me a better writer.
Also, I think when your writing poetry you can be too close to it emotionally. So when someone else reads it they are more objective and can give suggestions that in turn make you express that emotion better through the same poetry.
But either way it's still your poetry.
I think the real question you've got to ask yourself is "Do I really want to grow as a writer or just continue writing the same mediocre crap I'm writing right now?"!

i dont think that you should change the whole of your poem for someone else, however feedback that helps is alway useful to me and if someone said that my poem would work better with prhaps a diffent word then i would be greatful, and depending on whether i think it sounds right i would go ahead and change it.
