Suicide taking the easy way out?

  • donna

I do not think suicide is the easy way out, I think it is a very hard decision to take Your life and leave the people You love behind.. and the majority of times it does not work, however I do think it is a very selfish way out.. I have tried a lot of times in the past, but am so glad now that none of my attempts worked.. Nobody ever knows when thier life is going to change for the better, and it does, there is always a turning point, if You just stick to the fight and do not quit things do get better.. thats my opinion anyway

suicide is, while not a particularly good, or helpful decision, it is a decision.

    procrastination...that's the easy way out.

People usually commit suicide for three MAIN reasons:

    1. They have handled all that they can/will. They are overwhelmed with life and are afraid that nothing will ever get better. Like their "road of life" has had a lot more bumps and turns than they perceive most people's do.

    2. Severe lonliness. They feel like no one knows the real them, because they don't allow anyone to get to know the real them. They lie in bed at night and long for love, which they've barely felt, and if they had, it went sour.

    3. Extreme anger. They become so mad at someone that they want to prove to that person that they'd gone too far. Or they just want to give a reality check to all the people that have hurt them. This is the most selfish, in my opinion.

Granted, there are other reasons people do it, but I think those are the most common... As for taking the easy way out... Yes and no...

Yes, because they will not have to deal with life as they know it ever again. And they are escaping their problems, without adding more problems (at least not to themselves)

No, because they really don't know what they're getting into. They don't know what death is like...

But mostly, I think it's yes... It's a decision they make to escape their problems... and it always tends to be the easiest answer... Even though, in reality, no one really knows what death is like.

suicide is not nessaserly a gd way out i talk bout it wid my friends all the time cause i feel so bad that i want to die and they said if i did i would be selfish cause of how many people i would be hurting

but its my life y cant i take it away?

The only reason anybody will talk to others about taking thier own life, is if they want to be talked out of it and don't really want to do it in the first place..in that case it is a cry for help.. I think the people who are more of a threat, tend to go somewhere quiet and just do it.. as for why can't you^^ You are the only person who can make that choice.. only if it doesn't work.. and in most cases it does not.. you will more than likely be put into a mental health hospital, and then have no choices whatsoever.. I am not being hyporcritical, I have had selfish thoughts and taken action on them.. but you come to realise that life is hard.. not just for you but for everybody.. and by you taking your own life, will make life a lot harder for those who love you.. you are still young, and have plenty of time for good things to come to you.. and they will.. anyway i'm gonna shut up now, everybody are stronger than they believe.. you may just not realise it yet

whenever i do something seriously wrong, i panic, and consider the options - and usually running away, or something else like that comes up, because it'll be easier than facing the mistake i've made - but i'll stay put, and face the problem.

the same thing applies to suicide. sometimes, it's easier to just 'jump', so to speak, and end your problems, but if you can stand up, face your problems straight on, and deal with them that way, then yes, it is harder, but it's much more courageous - and it'll work for the best in the end.

I think suicide is the coward's way out. The only strong, couragous thing somebody can do is stick life out when it gets hard. I feel that is what takes real strength.

i say that suicide is a way of letting the world win- saying you know what, you win, i quit, forget it.

and i think you should never let the world win.

It sure is a gutless losers way out. It takes more of a person to face there demons than off themselves and escape them leaving a trail of hurt and pain behind them for family and friends of people who do committ suicide.

Suicide is a permanent solution to a temporary problem...

I love that quote it is so true...

tell me something to all of you who say its gutless and cowardly. home is supposed to be a safe place, right? now imagine the crap being beaten out of you al most every day at school by most every person around you and no teachers will step in... later that day yu go home just to have your dad do the same thing but no one will listen when yu cry and sream for help, is taking your life to escape that physical and mental pain cowardly?cuz that happened to one of my closest friends and i couldnt even do anything to stop it! so tell me now, is that kind of pain cowardly or selfish or anything else you wanna throw around?!
honestly there are different stories to each suicide so untill you can understand that, just stop!!!!!

The most courageous thing somebody can do is stick life out no matter how tough it gets. No matter what, suicide is weak.

can you HONESTLY say that you did everything
in your power to help your friend? if you cant
then stop telling people how their opinions should be.
did you go to the cops, talk to socail workers,
did either of you even tell anyone?

    people have their own opinions
and i think suicide is the easy way out.
    recovering from things is hard
life is hard, its unfair ALL THE TIME
does that mean you should go kill yourself?
    no, you'll die naturally when
    you're supposed to.

and yeah, there is different stories
to each suicide but guess what
i bet you that AT LEAST 97% of
    suicides could have been solved
if the person would have talked to
someone and really told them how
they felt or if they asked for help.

HE WENT OT THE COPS AND U KNO WHAT THEY DIDNT BELIEVE HIM!!!!!!! I ALREADY FEEL LIKE CRAP BECAUSE I COULD HAVE STOPPED IT BUT I WAS 2 "BUSY"!!!!!! HE WAS ONE OF MY CLOSEST FRIENDS AND HE TOLD ME TO GO LISTEN TO MY POD CD FOR A SONG THAT WAS EXACTLY US... HIS NAME WAS JOHNNY...
HE KILLED HIMSELF THE SAME WAY JOHNNY BOY DID IN YOUTH OF THE NATION!!!!!! AND HONESTLY U NEED ABOVE EVERYONE ELSE IN HERE TO SHUT UP BECAUSE CAN U HONESTLY TELL ME THAT IF U GOT THE CRAP BEAT OUT OF U 24/7 THAT U WOULDNT WANT TO ESCAPE THAT PAIN FOREVER?????!!!!!!!

ms.understood, you should really stop telling people to shut up. It's their opinions and just because you don't agree with them doesn't mean that you can tell them they are wrong. Also, take your finger off the Caps Lock button.

    'Whatcha'll think?'

Firstly i think you should improve your spelling, punctuation and grammer.

Secondly i think people who attempt/commit suicide are just unaware of what they do have to live for. NOTHING is irepairable, you can redeem eevrything. If you kill yourself because your girlfriend of boyfriend dumped you, i think the human race is better without said person taking our oxygen. Just my opinion, you harmed yourself by reading it. i didn't force you to.

suicide is not about being weak or being a coward ,
it is everbody's right to do
is it selfish?, probably, but when you're at that point, it's not an issue anymore, sometimes some ppl come to a point in their lives when being selfish is their only solution and suicide their right to do
and for some ppl that always criticise suicide and tell how bad their lives are and how "strong" they can be ,
there is a huge difference in thinking you have a bad live and actually having a bad live

"Suicide is a permanent solution to a temporary problem."

"Have the courage to live, anyone can die."

    - - Those are 2 of the quotes i live by, no matter how hard things get, or how easy some people have it, there are always other options. To some, suicide is a cowards way out, to others, it's the only option. I am not one to take sides on this one, because I have also thought about it, and now i don't anymore. I have grown up and realized it was stupid of me in the first place. There are always going to be people who will kill to see you fall on your face, live and thrive to prove them wrong ;)

Suicide is the easy way out for YOU not for everyone else. Why would one want to create such heart ache and pain for loved ones? It's mind boggling to me. Face life with both feet planted on the ground, a game face, and heart! Life is a beautiful thing and it shouldn't be destroyed so senselessly!!

That is what everyone thinks. If you mean it you wouldn't talk about it. Not always true. My mother had depression problems and threatened to take her life very often, but never did. It was for attention (we think). My brother, also followed in her path, he had everything most people wanted. Except he was having problems with his marriage. He started commenting on suicide. we ignored it for a while thought it was just talk for attention. 1 year later he told one of his friends he was going to kill himself and make it look like an accident. She ignored him also, my brother, my closest friend, is now gone. The day after he told his friend that, he drove his car into the oncoming traffic and was killed instantly. I everyday pay for his death. The ache in my heart is so awful some days makes me want to hate him. I am now in counceling because I can't except that I wasn't that important to him to stay with me! We were so close but yet so far. To think I loved my brother so much and he didn't know he had that in me to come to me and help him through it makes me so sad. My daughter is two and was his favorite, she will never remember her uncle. So many people hurt today because my brother took his life. I understand how someone can feel so lonely, so sad, but please think about the things that are good in your life and decide is it worth leaving. Take one day at time and try prayer, whether you believe or not, it can't hurt. Right? And also remember every action has a chain reaction, Positive? Or Negative?!

Depression or sadness can blind someone from what they really have around them. Fight against it, open your eyes and take a good look. Why would you want to leave those around you, who love you so dearly?

I have always grown up with the belief that only weak people take their own lives! Buht that changed when i had 3 friends take their lives in 6 MONTHS. They were very strong people... Even strong people have underlying problems. I agree with Gurdy, Depression or sadness can really blind someone against what is real.

to say suicide is selfish and cowardly...is simply STUPID of you....

don't try to describe something so fragile with such cruel and intense words....

  • HOLLYWOODxBANGBANG

It is a very cruel thing to describe this subject with, and I often get mad at my friends for it. But one of them had a very good point about it. And he is one that once was often contemplating it as well. And he told me the reason he didn't was because he had realized that if he had of done it, then how would his friends or his family feel? They would feel it was their fault, and he thought that rather "selfish" of him. And he thought that by not sticking out to the pain, and just giving into life's greatest troubles; he would be considered a "coward". From that day on, everytime I hang out with him, or just simply see him at school, he is a happier person. And I can detect fake happiness no matter how good the person is at hiding their pain. I just wish I could have found the kind of inspiration he had before doing so many silly mistakes that a lot of us make. Suicide is an easy way out, but some are blinded by pain. And to some, there isn't another way that they can see. There will be no right answer to this post. I just wish everyone could feel happiness, but there is no such thing as that day. Dreamers can still dream though. =]

He is a smart boy, I applaud him for his words. They really stood out to me, and yes, those words are not quite the ones that should be used to describe this matter, but those are the ones that are most often used anyways.
