Dark Poetry Contest.

Well, i got another idea from someone who posted on my war one.
I will name off 13 objects, and you write a poem about them, but the poem has to be dark. These are objects that usually aren't dark. It has to be a new poem as well. And you can reserve the objects if you want. I will take the first 13 new poems, and narrow it down to a final 8, the final 8 then have to write a 4 line stanza of the same object, still dark, not one from their poem. Then i will narrow it down to the final 5, they will write a lantern about the same object, still dark. Then the final 3, will write a senryu about the same object. The final 3...will all get 5 r/r/c on poems of their choice, then the first place winner, will get a spot on my favorites as well.

The blackest of eyes….
Worst of luck…
Just its stare will drive you to the devil…
It goes into your dreams…
Turns the most beautiful of dreams to the most realistic nightmare…..
They may like a regular black cat but inside they are waiting…
Waiting to turn to people to darkness……
Their nails are sharp as knifes
They screech like nail on a chalkboard……
Their call as a warning that they are coming…
Coming to take you they depths of hell…..
How you may ask….
They will scare you to make you run to hell…
You may not know even know it until later…..

Can I reserve Candles?

Candles

Watching the shadow come forth
Beneath the temples of my tears
I light my candles once again
While the sun disappears

Hearing his laughter down the hall
Another woman in his hands
'Hello, darling, I'm glad you're here'
I have something special planned

What is this, he whispered slowly
Taking in the candles I lit
"Oh something I should have done"
Something dark I must admit

Running my hands slowly down
Enchanting him in my eyes
You've been such a bad boy
I guess it's my turn to have a try

He thinks only of seduction
Dancing around my candles
They flicker as they smell
The evil in my scandal

Leading him on some more
Bathing him is beer
Oh soothing are my words
As deaths comes a bit near

"You hurt me too much dear"
I knew what you've done
I tie his bare hands tightly
"Let's have a little fun"

His eyes drowned in fear
His mouth hanged in shock
As I lift my first candle
Down to his soaked sock

Engulfed in flames he screamed
Twisting as his skin burned down
He begged and asked for mercy
As his face starts turning brown

"Goodbye darling, I do regret
Every knowing, loving you
You whoring, unfaithful bastard
I've always knew...always knew

Yeah, besides the almost drowning, it was all good. Plus, i learned that scuba divers are very scary when you're trying to swim where they are :|

lol, well if it wasnt for that scuba diver swimming underneath me, and the friggin board tied to his leg that looked like a shark, i woulda been fine lol.

You sure can, and a senryu is a three line Japanese poem structurally similar to haiku. It is unrhymed and the subject is based on human nature. It is usually satirical or ironic.

line 1 - 5 syllables
line 2 - 7 syllables
line 3 - 5 syllables

Lol by accident? Were you trying to write a Haiku?

that's weird, in accident? sorry i haven't posted the DOZEN ROSES, i'm still not done yet, i thought contest are easy!!!!!!!! lol, this is really like my first time! :)

umm....i'm kinda having a hard time writing the poem, i think i should try A HOSPITAL, if i can. i mean whichever topic i can write, and brainstorm faster. and whichever you prefer....for me i'm not really good at writing, i need more improvements. just by reading the other contestants' poem, it really impressed me.........i know i won't win, but i'll try to.........

A HOSPITAL

In a hospital, a baby was born
by surprise, it had two little horns
a little tail coming out of the baby's rear-end
and this is how the nightmare all began

The parents were perfectly fine
until they heard a terrible sign
but they ignored it, they didn't believe the future teller's prediction
for them they said it was just fiction

the Teller said "until it hasn't born, we are perfectly fine, but when it's born,the future I can not define"
"what a stupid jerk" They said to each other while walking away from the Old lady's presence
before something more would happen, like awkward moments

They went for ultra sound
then there was something they had found
it wasn't sucking thumb
it was moving, it wasn't numb

But it's nails were long and pointy
it was something you could actually see!
the parents were worried
then the mom started to bleed

They called for help
as the doctors yelped
they carried her to the delivery room
and what they didn't know, that they were meeting their doom

She yelled and screamed, while she tried to push the child out
the child slipped away, the mom was worn-out
they were happy to see their little baby
but something brushed their face and changed their emotions, that the doctors could see

I can't find mine though. I had this notebook for just like lanterns and senryu and haikus...those kind of poems. And i lost it =( . So i have to start working on some more lol.
