This describes the emotions of life... I'm not sure if this qualifies to you, so if it doesn't, tell me and I'll withdraw.

    I Am

    A shattered cough,
    Lost breath,
    Broken skin,
    I am Death.

    A single look,
    A glance above,
    A glimmering eye,
    I am Love.

    A touch that lied,
    Broken Trust,
    Lost Love,
    I am Lust.

    Wondering alone,
    Lost Fate,
    Never Love,
    I am Hate.

    A gracious smile,
    A golden key,
    A gate of Trust,
    I am Destiny.

    Unbroken lies,
    Not left in dust,
    An open arch,
    I am Trust.

    A broken smile,
    I do defy,
    What is truth?
    I am a Lie.

    A happy time,
    Everyone's strife,
    You'll never forget,
    That I am Life.

    Weary Traveler
    By: Twisted Heart

Do you suppose there is a place
    Where love exists without conditions
Where hearts unite in time and space
Where hate is put in remission.

Is there a place where you can be
A soul without despair and grief
Where you can go and feel the breeze
    of sweet contentment and relief.

To find a place that you can soar
Above the worries and the pain
A place that unearths your very core
    Letting love and joy remain.

But though this weary traveler seeks
That lovely place to lay my heart
A dream of peace and harmony
Has been distant from the start.

So answer me, kind sir, I plead
Upon this hostile world I search
Is there a place to plant the seed
Of pure contentment on this Earth.

For if with love we cannot stand
Above the lines of hidden truths
Are we but figments on this land
    Forever lost and destitute.

ok this may not sound like a life poem but it is...i consider it a life poem because its talking about the society and how they want me to write happy poems, and i try to explain to them that my LIFE isnt just all that happy...so here it is

    Read it and Weep

    By: David Marshall

    They want something new,
    A poem not so sad.
    I don't know about you,
    but my life sucks bad.

    you want happy,
    Believe me I've tried.
    my poems may be crappy,
But not once have I lied.

    These are my feelings,
    every word true.
    It's all I have,
    to share with you.

    if you want happy,
    look another way.
    Forget about me,
    and live another day.

    I'm not worried about style,
    Or how good it flows.
    I'm worried about my sorrow,
    and the way it grows.

    So don't correct,
    Just comfort me.
    Show some respect,
    show sympathy.

    Do you think I write,
    just for your pleasure?
    Think again,
    this is my treasure.

    when you read my work,
    what do you see?
    Am I a selfish jerk?
Or do you feel sorry for me?

    I understand,
    to you I'm unknown.
    But you have to know,
what it's like to be alone.

    Read it and weep,
    my words cut deep,
    try walking in my shoes,
    with your own feet,

    It's Murder...
    by ([-Me-])

When you go to work each day
Do you listen for the cries?
Do you hear the silent screams they make,
    Everytime they die?

When you kill those innocent children,
Do you consider their holy souls?
Do you wonder what they could've done,
If they had a chance to accomplish their goals?

    You say they're only flesh,
    Only muscle skin and bone.
But they could have been someone
If they had the chance to grow.

Remember that little one you killed today?
He could've been the new pope.
He could've changed the way the world works.
But thats something we'll never know.

That little boy could have found the cure,
    To cancer, AIDS or more.
He could have saved a million lives,
He could have ended all Wars.

When you stop their hearts from beating
Do you think of what you've done?
Its just as though you've shot a child,
    With a legal machine gun.

Before you kill those innocent kids.
Think of how you're such a fool
The government's tricked you into thinking
    That this murder isn't cruel....

    "The long lost dream"
    by Wings of an Angel

"I can not save the world" she says,
and looks at the sunset view,
She sits and thinks of wonder woman,
She wants to be her too.

At the age of only ten,
    she knows what she'll become,
"If I can not touch everyone,
I will try to touch some."

    She has decided years ago,
A writer is what she'll be.
She will not follow the rest of the crowd,
She won't be trapped, but free.

Five years later the dream came back,
    "I almost let it fade,"
Now she thinks back to that night,
when the dream of her life was made.

    She starts to tell people,
    about her long lost dream,
    She is so exited,
    Out she wants to scream.

    But people underestimate her,
    "A writer? Please, come on"
    Her courage took a turn,
    Her fate was nearly gone.

She can't believe they even dared,
    To think she couldnt win,
A tear fell down her burning eyes,
    She burned deep within.

    She decides in that moment,
    She will never quit,
"I'm not going to save the world,
    I'm going to change it!"

    Model Behavior
by †ђe мađŋєss τo youя мэtђođ

    You got it made

A year ago I wished you dead
    Now we're like best friends
The gothic one woke up to find herself in a fairytale
    She follows the behavior
of the models covering her walls
She says she follows my example
    Innocent by association
    She's like my little sister
    Leave her with those magazines
    that sell such pretty lies
Would we still be friends if you weren't so nice?
    Originality is so cliche
    You got it made

    ~Postpartum Deport~

A relationship bound by the court,
    two parents yearning to abort.
    One child's postpartum deport,
a life, from the start, out of sorts.

The help of two elders, they sought,
    a custody battle, never fought.
    Drug addict parents, got caught,
    important lessons, never taught.

A baby that was left behind,
    consequences of a legal bind.
A lifestyle of a different kind,
    viewpoints from a distorted mind.

A family separated by years in time,
a life with a different rhythm and rhyme.
Two people, making up for another's crime,
always living off of their last dime.

A difficult situation from the start,
a unique picture, of an unpopular art.
    A family, nearly torn apart,
two grandparents, certainly, off the charts.

An unwanted boy, now full grown,
held together by seams, left un-sewn.
Approaching life with a whole different tone,
hoping, some day, to live life on his own.

    Journey Rain

    Stories flock in dreams
    Flourish in the minds
    Fearless as a tiger
    A journey is revived

    Come across a boulder
    A fallacious way of life
    The two paths emerges
    Which way shall you strive

    One way leads to emeralds
    One way leads to gold
    Another leads to illusions
    Of all your stories told

    Some leads to a forest
    Lonely and forlorn
    Others are just idle
    Feeble life is born

    A journey comes with rain
    And shadows dwell within
    Wanderers must face snow
And learn from their own sin

    Our hands hold fate tight
    Driving us to some place
    Where only light can touch
    The smiles of a face

    -Reflection.-

With an ashen dress draped over her fatigued body,
she glides through the trees and rustles the leaves,
trudging along the dirt path, kicking up rocks and weeds,
and with coming upon the pond set in the middle she stops,
dead silence as she looks in and sees a girl...
so young and carefree, laughing and smiling.
Innocence so pure and eyes so genuine.
And i know that somewhere along the sun driven path,
i have made mistakes and lost my way,
i have made regrets and caused some pain.
i have slashed some hearts and skinned some knees,
and i have crossed my fingers and wished to die.
But with my reflection into my past today,
a clear vision to my shattered soul,
at the hands of the devil...moments away from his grip.
a lush squandering for his poison.
My heart pounds within my chest of flames
And with thunder in my hands and lightning in my eyes,
I clash against the raging clouds.
I will fall to the depths of hell, and walk right through,
and get my soul back before the devil even knows I'm there.

I Miss Daddy, A Tale of a Six Year Old

Why did my daddy go away, he shouldn't have had to.
He told me he'd return again, he told me in a year or so.
my mommy tells me he went to fight, but i said daddy's too good to fight.
She said in a place called Iraq, he may have to fight in daytime and night.

I kept watching the news, and Iraq was there a lot.
How could my daddy be fighting in a TV I asked.
Mommy said that daddy, was the man in green.
so i kept searching for him, looking on the screen.

one day at a friends house, his mom was looking at the TV.
she said it was a movie of war, and that i couldn't see.
but when i walked away, i saw a man in green.
i yelled that's my daddy, that's my daddy, but he suddenly got blown to smithereens.

i screamed with all my might, and i started to cry.
my daddy's dead, my dadddy's dead, but please tell me why.
why was he in a place like that, where he could be in harm's way
he said that he'd come back for me, he'd said he'd come another day.

i kept on crying and my friends mom took me to my house.
i kept ignoring all her words, and i was now as quiet as a mouse.
we walked up to my front door, and past the cans of tin.
and then inside my father was waiting. i ran and hugged him, now we're a family again.

    ~Perfect world~
    Hello to you
    I am scared of all
    Let me tell you
    About our perfect world.
    There is war going on
There are people who are starving,
There is smog in the air
There are people who living bare.
There is crying in the night
By children who are being beaten,
    The silent is broken
From all of the gang shooting.
There are movies that are repulsive
From all the violence of in life
Please tell me this is not our paradise world.
Please show me to a world that is untouched by men
Please show me a world that is green and clean.
    Let there be no trash
    Let there be no pain
Let there be a place far away.
Although there is so much hate
    In the world today
It is a miracle that we are alive and breathing.
Life is strange but we need to be brave
We are all here for a reason
That reason is unknown for me
    This is it,
    No one will change it
We complain about all the hate
Yet we do nothing to stop it,
    I love life but
    I hate the world.

    A Simple Photo...
    by J. Lau

    A simple photo
    Glanced at by many
    Seen through the lens
    Of an individual

    A single glimpse
    Of a snow covered tree
    Standing alone
    In the freezing scene

    Many claimed it's portrait
    But never quite the same
    Each with their own perspective
    Captured through their own interpretation

Some expressed a sad lonely scene
Where time froze all living creatures
Chilling winds drifted off the photo
    A land of lifeless emptiness

The contrasting view stood out like a rose
Displaying the beauty of a winter wonderland
    Where the freshly covered tree
Glisten and shine it's glorious coat

Yet another photo presents a welcomed invitation
To all creatures young and old
A new paradise to be found
Of fresh white powder on the ground

    But this one unique shot
Of a baby left to cry
    Under this same lonely tree
    Melted all the snow away

    One single glimpse
    One single photo
    One single perspective
    Saved one precious life

    Life is like photography
    Is a matter of perspective
There is no right or wrong point of view
But there's always another angle that you may have missed

    WAR
    by Adrian or Adrianc1294

    war is to hate
bombs flying in the open air
killing innocent people meeting their fate
screaming, crying, this is so UNFAIR!

    children covering their ears
    parents really worried
    coming toward are their fears
a war in this country is something they don't need

    screaming of guns shooting
everywhere there are blood and fire
once in a while everyones dying
surviving this moment is something we aspire

relatives who went to the battle
families praying for them to be back in one piece
    parents not sleeping, they're unsettled
and what they lack is for peace

    at last it all ended
bullets, bombs, everywhere, people building up inside full of anger
ashes of the dead people, felt like acid
but they're glad, at least it's all over

    Invisible Ink
    by ♥ Jєѕѕу ♥

    I carefully write out
    The lines of my life
    Each and every
    Thought and emotion
    Is expressed in this book..

    And as each feeling seeps
    Into the white page
    That it was printed on
    It becomes invisible ink..

    If anyone were ever
    To see these precious pages
    My soul would be shattered
    And my existence uncovered..

So I write of my days
    In invisible ink
    No one will ever know
    The secrets and lies
    That I live within..

This book and my invisible ink
    Is what keeps me alive
    Is what keeps me sane..

    And as I write
    My thoughts, feelings, and desires
    Melt into the pages
    Becoming one with the book
    Never to be discovered
    Because of my invisible ink..

    Against the Wall
    By: Amanda Bee

I sit on this cold sidewalk
With my back against the wall
    As people pass me by
They hardly look at me at all

I stick out my right hand
    And I quietly plead
Praying someone will take the time
To help a poor man in need

Some people give me a few dollars
While others pitch me a nickel or dime
Some people have nothing to offer
Because I'm not even worth their time

My very presence seems to offend them
    I’m just another pathetic being
    Another miserable, lazy loser
Is what I am; is what they’re seeing

    I never would have thought
That I would end up sitting here
    What happened to my dreams?
    A house? A family? A career?

While on the road of life
Some where I’ve taken a wrong path
    Now I’m lost and terrified
Completely consumed in this angry wrath

So now I try to come up with a plan
    For my social restitution
    To rejoin society's ranks
And put an end to this destitution

I've reached a point of desperation
Enough to lie, to cheat, to steal
As my hunger pains increase and
I don't know where to find my next meal

    Something has to give
This is not the way it’s supposed to be
I’m frantically looking for an answer
A solution to this life of poverty

I doubt I’ll make it out
In fact, I hold little hope at all
As I sit on this cold sidewalk
With my back against the wall
