Just take your time from poetry. If you get stuck writing a poem just relax and come back to it later on.

Oh, well, one thing that helps me is thinking up titles, then I wonder, what could a poem with that title be about, and basically I go and write it.
Like, once, out of nowhere, I got the title Ambidextrous Poet in my head, and so I wrote a poem about it, just letting it flow. Also if I feel like I have been treated unfairly, I'll go and write a self-pity "Why Me??" sort of poem, and let it all out. That or hit something, and getting it out with words that will only be read by strangers is much better. :-D

No one is expected to be able to always write.. and like you said you cant force it.. so just go out have fun.. and when the time comes you will be able to write again :)

I read the dictionary. THere are some pretty cool words to use in a poem. I listen to music. The lyrics. Sometimes that puts me in the mood to write.
