Gods never die, their power just wanes when followers stop believing in them. |

I've always wondered who Janis was. I know he's the owner of the site and everything but does he ever comment on poems or forum discussions? |

Nuovo and bret, have you read "American Gods" by Neil Gaiman? It deals with that very issue. A man, named only shadow travels around america meeting and fighting etc, old gods who are struggling in a world that doesn't believe in them anymore...whilst the new Gods of Internet and technology thrive...it's very cool. |

I have spent many years studying various aspects of religion.I am still just as confused as I was 20 years ago.I have taken a little bit from every aspect of religion and admire most the spirituality of the native americans and wiccan philosophies. But no matter,We are all gods of our own destinies, truths, beliefs..Our poetry is a form of expresing our beliefs. our faiths, our religions, our philosophies. It is the truth and meaning of this life as we view it that matters.Whether you believe in a Supreme being or not doesn't matter;God is not dead, we are all gods of our own making, if there is a higher power, than it guides us through this life if you choose to believe that, or if you choose to believe we are all gods and control our own destiny and vision, that is also possible..We must all find our way throgh this life, no matter religion, belief or faith. As long as you you have a sense of sprituality in yourself, in this world, that is all that matters. |

Regarding American Gods, Kevin, I just saw it on my wife's bookshelf! Woo and Yay for me. It's amazing what you find when you're not looking for anything. |
