    i have a poetry tone presentation due tomorrow and i am stuck in a group by myself with 2 poems which are...

    Engraved on the Collar of a Dog Which I Gave to His Royal Highness

    I am his Highness' dog at Kew;
    Pray tell me, sir, whose doge are you?

    Love

    There’s the wonderful love of a beautiful maid,
    And the love of a staunch true man,
    And the love of a baby that’s unafraid—
    All have existed since time began.
    But the most wonderful love, the Love of all loves, Even greater than the love for Mother,
    Is the infinite, tenderest, passionate love
    Of one dead drunk for another

    and i need a poetry analysis of the tone, theme, style, figurative devices, bleh for both!! i have to present tomorrow and i am freaking out big time. plz come forth with any help u may spare because i'll take all i can get. tyvm

    I think the first poem has a humorous and satiric effect to it. I think the dog is a reflection of the princess, and since it seems like the princess/royal highness is in England, that they are acting sort of.. whats the word, 'high and mighty' like that stereotypes you see on Disney. The 'figurative devices' if I am correct would coinside about what I have just said about England, or the fact that dogs can't talk, OR that it's really a human talking, and about how he is like a dog, serving the King?

    The second poem ... hmm.. I have no clue about that one, sorry :(.. if I think of something I'll let you know.

    Hope I've helped somewhat though lol. Good luck hun!
