How Not to Lead a Guy On

I have a feeling that I'm leading a guy on. I'm the kind of person who smiles at everyone - not the freakishly kind of smile at everyone, but ya know what I mean. I heard that when girls smile at guys, the guy gets the impression that the girl is making a move or likes him a lot. Is that true? I smiled at my friend today (we kind of have a 'history', but thats a long story) and he just nodded and said hi, like he disregarded me. I feel like such an idiot. Should I feel like this?

No, I think smiling is a good thing. I do the opposite. I think I have a little smile on, and I'm actually frowning... to smile at someone isn't a flirtatious gesture, it's just a natural thing to do.
I wouldn't worry that you're leading him on.. maybe he secretly feels the same.

No, smiling doesn't lead a guy on, unless they have a very low self-esteem. I know there are some guys out there that will take a smile like they take a compliment. Most guys see a smile as a friendly gesture, not as a tool for flirting.

Hahah, I likely COULDN'T lead a guy on, even if I liked him...I'm not a flirter by nature. No, I think a smile is just a nice thing to do.

Lol, I am unfortunately a flirter by nature. I may not have the greatest of looks, but I really know how to talk to girls, actually people in general.
Reason I think it's bad, is because it may lead people on. I feel bad at times when girls ask me for my number, and yeah, it surprises me too, and I'm like, uh, sure. But it can't go beyond anything than friendship.

but now i'm engaged, i don't do it anymore, however me being friendly and giddy (which is my normal personality) can get me accused of leading people on..
