Meditation and exercise have helped me - they calmed down for ages but have recently fired back up again for me as well...they can be so hard to deal with, rather scary at times.

I get panic attacks when I go to the dentist. I'm not sure how to help you. Basically, I don't go to the dentist because of this huge fear...
I suggest you look into your diet. Consult a nutritionist, you could be lacking essential vitamins. A radical change in eating patterns could help, such as eating 75 % raw food. These are only suggetions. Make sure that you get plenty of sleep.
Also consult a herbalist. Such herbs like valerium, melissa and a few others are good for the nervous system. Valerium is made from the roots of a plant, but they use alcohol to enhance it, not a terrible amount though. Anyway, it makes you very calm, even though it doesn't smell too good.

I get panic attacks too. Not so much as I used to, no, actually very rarely now. But I do get quite a few nervous breakdowns. Dunno if you consider that the same thing or not. I just get really shakey and I cry and sometimes I'll scream or pull at my hair or break things. That's when I'm alone and thinking about stuff and yeah. I'm working on taking my mind off of things better though.

are you also working along with college?
because they may be caused from stress whether you feel stressed out or not. Just try to eliminate some extra things, dont try to stay out late and wake up early and run on a few hours of sleep.
