That is a good question. Someone once told me I need to write about things that appeal to the people who is reading my poetry. They said I wrote about things that most people on this site couldn't relate to. And they were right... partially, anyway. Most of the people who are on this web site are younger than me and for me to write about the agony of getting older and buying wrinkle creams just doesn't appeal to someone who's biggest problem is what is happening to them at school. So I tried to write about some of the things that I thought might appeal to them, and I found out that didn't work either. Now, I just write about what ever. As for finding something new to write about, I open up the dictionary. not only do you get different ideas, but you increase your vocabulary. |

Maybe seeing the mundane in a new light. I used to see this water tower everyday. Then one day I was inspired by it. I wrote a poem about a very large spider. I called the poem the Wichita Water Tower Spider, lol. The teacher gave me an "A". |

It all depends on the way you look at it. If you think other peoples poems are boring, and yours are boring, then it/they may not be to the writer/reader. That sentance almost confused me. |
