this is so sad! i received an email this morning and it made me cry. it was about putting down pit bulls just because of their breed. thats horrible. they arent born like that. just like any other animal, if the owner brings them up to be mean or to fight, they're gonna do it. its not fair! i have a pit bull and my cats are meaner than he is because he was brought up that way...not learning how to be mean. you can look at this by going to www.sorryagain.com or if you go to www.youtube.com and type in sorry again video and then it should be like the 11th one down. this is so horrible and something needs to be done. its cruel

I'm completely with you...We bought a pure American breed Pitbull(Roxy) around the same time we bought a Maltese(JayJay). I must say JayJay used to jump on Roxy, play with her and she didn't do anything in anyway to harm him. JayJay also used to jump on Roxy and bit her and growl at her, Napoleon complex or something LoL I don't know, but Roxy never once got agressive with him. To tell you the truth, I was a little shocked as to how kind and gentle Roxy is. And who knows...maybe if it was another "big dog" maybe that dog would've bit JayJay. Pitbulls are such amazing dogs...extremely loyal...they just need the right home...

thank you...like i said, its all about the people (the owners) it has nothing to do with the dogs behavior, yet they are the ones being punished...by being put to death...makes me sick

What would you say if a pitbull ripped half your baby brothers face off - would your opinion be different? One did to mine he has the scars to prove it...so now we own Bull Terriers insteadd.

not meaning anything personal about your situation...but no, it does not change my opinion what so ever.....the dog that bit him could have just as easily been a pug...it has nothing to do with the fact that it was a pit. any dog can bite, even the little ones that everyone thinks are so cute.....IT DOESNT MATTER! so i still stand with my opinion.

thank you....and you're very right about what you added. once again, sticking by what my whole point is....doesnt matter what the breed or the animal is....its the people that everyone needs to look at!

Thing is Bob it was OUR DOG some breeds are just more aggressive than others...like some people are bigger assholes than others really. We had to put him down which was really sad but we still have dogs, just not that breed anymore.

And believe me it WASNT trained to bite anyone, quite the opposite... he was a family dog, one day he just SNAPPED and my brother has the scars to prove it.

Omg, I just saw that video, and I was in tears... I am a HUGE animal person, and so that video went straight to my heart... I never even heard that was happening, until I read this thread... That is horrible... I completely agree on the fact that it's the owners who make the dog the way he/she is... The dog can't control how he/she has been raised... It's people who get dogs, because they think they're cute or whatever and have no time to actually take to train them... Animals are like kids.... I think it's horrible... Hell, why not kill the owners, who make the dog the way he/she is? Yeah, exactly... won't happen.. why? it's illegal... murder... well, it's murder even if it's "just" an animal too

i know, i was in tears too and i was at work. this is a horrible thing that people need to do something about.....and by the way,Eibutsina, where was his mother at? seems a bit odd....i know things happen, but there have been people that have been attacked by a bird and have scars to prove it.....it has not one single thing to do with the breed of dog!!!! its the people!

Brit my mum was was in the kitchen and my brother and I were playing in the lounge room, as soon as mum heard it she ran and and saw him locked jawed on my brothers face while I just sat their and watched (obviously a child myself didnt knwo what else to do) I just remember blood everywhere and my mother freaking right out trying to rush him to the hospital. It wasn't her fault, her my fathers we gave the dog (meatball was his name) a great loving home, with more than adequate training and he still turned. Obviously we had him put down...and the vet told us it was because of his breed that they are naturally more agressive than other domestic dogs...which I believe to be true from my experience.

And just quietly Brit I would watch what your saying about my parents and treatment of their animals they have huge hearts and have done nothing but good for the managerie they have at home...he was a bad seed. NOT MY PARENTS OR MY BROTHER. That made me so angry you have some bloody audacity girl...

About a year ago, my mom's friend's daughter was attacked by a German Shepard...does that mean all German Shepards are evil and must be put to death?

Silly...no matter what breed dog it is, agression exists in all...it's just a matter of circumstances and the way they were brought up.

i cant believe that there is even someone who agrees with this happening. this is a sick, horrible thing and it needs to stop. my pit bull is the sweetest thing you could even imagine. i would trust having my kids around him. uhg i cant even believe this is going on. its not right and its not even fair. raise him right and treat him right and he'll be a good dog.why should they be the ones to die when all animals can attack?

pits are considered an agressive breed because of their lock jaw and because morons use them to fight. hello, ever heard of cock fights, does that mean that THEY too should be put to sleep?! my cousin has 8 full grown pits and one just had another liter (she breeds and 'pimps' to sell) and one of her full grown pits held a baby up on the bed when the he was crying in pain cuz the baby weighs about as much as he does and didnt hurt her... it all depends on how the animal is raised.
some people say its in their blood to be vicious dogs and they were breed to hunt and kill, well arent there many other dogs breed for that reason too? plus people can have agressive behavior in there blood line and have done harm but i dont see them being killed! god said though shalt not kill and i dont think that is only meant for humans... i mean he put cows and such here for nurishment to the people but he put dog here as a companion to mankind, atleast there is a reason certain animals die (for food) but dont kill pits just to kill them from a stereotypical view of them!

Bittersweet...I never said all pittbulls, I wasn't generalising, I was speaking specifically about our previous dog being a bad seed and the commonly known fact that pittbulls are more aggressive natured that other dogs...do your research and discover that fact for yourself.
I'm not saying its right to put down animals I am an animal lover after all but sometimes you come across one that just isn't suitable for domestic life and if its putting the safety of your own children and others in danger then put them down.

this is all just crazy.... me and my bf went to the beach over the weekend and we took spike (my pit) with us. he had a blast, didnt cause any trouble what so ever. some people had a dog a little ways down and came over to us and the 2 dogs played a little bit. the other people actually asked if spike could catch the football with them and thats like spikes favorite thing in the world. so we let him and nothing bad happened. now another one of our friends showed up and he had brought his dog ....just a reg. not sure what kind...but we had spike tied up when we werent right there cause he loves trying to play with the birds....and spike just tried to lick the other dog and the dog started attacking spike! now come the f*** on! it wasnt the pit who started it!! HELLO....cause we didnt bring him up to be aggresive or to fight. each person grabbed a collar and i threw water in their faces...that broke them up cause spike backed up cause he knew i was telling him no...guess what....that damn dog attacked him again. funny huh? well, spike came out all bloody cause he knew he wasnt suppose to fight and that other dog didnt have a scratch. so i dont care what anyone else says....even though it seems only one person in here cant see clearly...cause what happened at the beach...really did prove something.
