ok, i need pplz opinions plz.
i was raped by my ex's cousin a couple yrs back & im moving past it 4 the most part except for 1 thing...
ppl @ my school find it funny 2 yell rape randomly if sumthin happens & i dont find it 2 b their buisness that i was, but it bothers me so much...any1 else?

Yes, I am often bothered when people yell out the word rape out of nowhere. I was not raped luckily but was sexually assaulted to the point I actually thought he was going to try and rape me. To this day it bothers me but nobody seems to care that a word they yell as a joke can cause emotions to come back to people who were victims.

You shouldn't take to heart. People don't mean it to hurt people. I joke around with my friends because it's an inside joke we have. I have a friend who was raped, and she doesn't take it to heart when we joke around and say we're going to rape one antoher. I know rape is a serious matter, but it's not something you should take to heart. There are always going to be people shouting random things that may cause others to reminisce on the past. You can't tell every single person in the world who does it to stop. You are just going to have to find away to ignore it, or possibly join in on the joke.

inside joke or not...other pple hear them. and...wow. that's a really bad inside joke. it's not even funny. a little sad and creepy that you're too polarized to see that though.

Well i don't want to be rude or anything, but if it's not your friends who are doing it, it's not really your buisness. you have your opinion, and i hve mine. Rape is a horrible thing to go through. I would never purposely say rape infront of someone who has gone through it.

well c i kno it sounds kinda weird, but 1 of my friends says "im' gonna 'rape' u!" all the time & at 1st that offended me & i opened ^ 2 him but c, he came from a diff. state and it meant sumthing other than the meaning we all think of. it just meakes me so mad when other ppl do it though cuz it the whole cryin wolf thing. ppl laugh & joke about it thinkin itll never be them til it DOES happens to them.and punk i dont think ur being rude but they do have a point that is alittle sinister(? i dunno if thats spelled rite?)

Well i've thought about it a lot, and i guess i really never considered how those who've gone throught might feel. I respect your opinions. I kind of feel like a jerk for never considering other peoples feelings. Today my friend shouted, "ah, she's raping me", and i got affended. I'm the type of person who jokes a lot, so sometimes i don't think before i say something. ^I have no idea how i show up everywhere you are, lol. Just a coincidence i guess :).

People dont understand what they're doing when they joke about things like that its the same with cutting jokes, suicide jokes, and everything else my friends say that almost make me loose it in front of them the point is people dont think about what they're saying and what they're doing

Yeah I agree. Its stupid. I wasn't raped but I was abused for over a year. It was horrible, so it really hurts when people joke about stuff like that.
