what shouldn't you say in a poem?

I try hard not to repeat the same rhyme in the same poem, sometimes even trying to have all different rhyming sounds. Also, my poems don't always have to make total sense, but I always want them to be able to relate, in some manner, to what the topic is. I guess thats kind of a 'duh' attribute, but I guess its just extra important to me.
