    Poetry

    My poems are about,
    What I've been though,
And things that are going on,
    Right now in my life.

I write about how I feel,
And why I feel that way.
    Things that happen to me,
    Almost every day.

Poetry is a way for me,
To express how I feel inside,
    In a way that I can't,
    Tell people out loud.

    Setting My Emotions Free.

    Sadness, laughter, moody, bad.
    Happy, hurting, good and sad.
Anything that means a lot to me,
    and a occassionally some imagery.

Mostly when I want to scream and shout,
they're the times I write about.
It releases the feelings inside of me,
and kind of sets my emotions free.

The best way to express how I feel,
the only time everything is real,
Whether You like my poems or not,
    I don't really care 'cause they're all I've got.

    The Power of Poetry

It's greater than the power of kings
It's the wonder in everyday things
    It's the essence of creativity
    The greatest human activity

    Just tantalizing words
    From a realm beyond,
Just waiting to be spoken and heard
    Is their only common bond

    Until a poet like me
    opens up his soul
and lets the words take control
    Just to create a masterpiece

    And it doesn't matter
    If your young or old,
    Cause the beauty of poetry
    Is for all to behold

    Poetry
    Terra

    Tears unspoken mysteries
    pleads of starving eyes
    Begging for acknowledgment
    from those walking past

    Daddie doesn't see
she tries so hard to impress
    every poem she writes
    she hopes he'll smile at

    Screams of hatered echo
    through the taunting house
    a disgrace to the family
    just listen to thier laughs

    Hidding in a corner
    trying to be good
    cleaning all the household
    as tears write her thoughts

    Mommie doesnt see
    the pleading in her eyes
    another night of writing
    another night of tears

Laid out in front of you
are the reasons of her thoughts
    just to be noticed
by those who pass her by

Acrostic Poetry is where the first letter of each
line spells a word, usually using the same
    words as in the title.

    The Essence of moments

Lest she should fade too swiftly
    into the mists of time,
and Autumn come to slay them,
    the memories of mine.

And all the thoughts of darkness
    turned loose as we decay,
    no glimpse of better ages,
    as grief consumes the day.

I write to catch the essence
    of moments, that when come,
    seems not of such importance
as when they all have gone.

Never forget the past nor the future that's to come
Never forget the warmth given by our sun
Even when you can't release the thought of tears
Write your blood where Heaven can see it clear

Poetry has emerged with a greater value than art
It has switched to mode of opening our hearts
Allowing us to dig deeper within our own reflection
Unveiling a mask which have kept us in delusion

All the sweat, the stress poured unto these words
But poetry is blabbering in the world of standards
No one cares about the deepness in poetry
They all shoo it away as a writer's self-misery

They're ignorant while we see the shadows lurking
They sleep while we dream of a future lost in killing
Even my friends neglect the meanings as self-pity
They think I'm too serious when I'm just being me

    Pen To Sheet [Sedoka]

    Poetry lingers
Flowing from my soul through words
Pen to sheet; like key to lock..

    Expressing myself
    Tears of emotions entwined
    My soul released on paper..

    ` ` ` ` ` ` ` ` ` ` ` ` ` ` ` ` ` ` ` ` ` `
The Sedoka is an unrhymed poem made up of
two three-line katauta with the following syllable
    counts: 5/7/7, 5/7/7.

    ONE more Day!!

  • Avrii Monrielle

    It can break my heart

    My poetry houses words
    My soul wishes to speak
    My voice wants to yell
    My heart needs to beat

From my wrists drip imaginary blood
Angels watch over me with love
Lovers kiss me on the neck
And I taste the sharpest cheddar cheese

    My thoughts are explored,
    My promises aren't broken,
I can get through another day,
    And smile.

That smile might mean nothing or be invisible
    Or better, a simple laugh
Knowing that my friend is listening
    My friend named Poetry

The friend who brought me to life
    When I wanted to die
The friend who made me smile
    When I wanted to cry

In touch and tied with imaginary string
    Strung around my heart
    Is my favorite
    Poetry

It can break my heart or make me sigh
Want to die or reconsider life
Know what it's like to be abused
And most of all, discover the truth

    The truth, for
    Poetry can never lie.
    No matter how many years
    Or how many times.

Poetry is the grace and passion
    That is dropped like bouquets
    Down from heaven
    O, beloved poetry

    The heart and soul
    Cry out through its words
    Formed from thoughts to ink
    Poetry - pen and paper

I want to take this opportunity to thank all who enter my contests. This must have been harder than I thought because I didn't have as many entrants as my previous contests, but the submissions were just as good. I love to know why people start writing and why they use poetry as their way of communicating their thoughts and feelings. Sometimes, I write so much poetry in a day that I find myself rhyming in everyday conversation. Which is weird. But that's jsut me.

Again, thanks for participating in this one, and I will have another one starting later this weekend or next week.
