Well, I'm sure that line has been used by several guys, possibly even girls. I really don't understand it. If you're breaking up with someone, aren't you automatically hurting them. But if you love them, you wouldn't hurt them. How does that work!?!?..
It's a contradiction.. I would just laugh at it if I heard it.. lol

God, if i was told that i'd turn around and say, "Yeah, well it's cos i loved you i faked it."

    I'm a bit cruel =)

    I haven`t heard that one before .
THe one i hear most is, "I love you, but I'm just not ready to be in a relationship." -.-
My friends have gotten that so many times .
It`s getting old . Most of them didn`t even mean it .
They went into another relationship like 3 days later with some other girl .
    Rawr .

The "I love you, but I don't want to hurt you" is a euphemism for. "I like [something] about you, but you're too [something]." I've used it. I've said it to this one guy who was kind of a rebound thing. As nice as the person is, and the attention they give you, it doesn't really justify the laundry list of other things that drive you crazy.

"I love you but I'm just not ready to be in a relationship" with younger people who are mature enough to realise they aren't mature enough for dating, or divorcees, or widows...yeah, it can be true. But, just because someone's not ready to be in a relationship, doesn't mean they won't try. Just maybe not on you.
