    I think the most important thing that helps poetry is having alot of emotion and imagery. If a poem is full of strong emotion, it will be great. Imagery is also extremely important in order to allow the reader a picture. Don't forget metaphors.

    learn from each poem you write,.. read a lot of published poets and pay attention to what techniques caught your eye. typing the poems out, or writing them down, will also help you familiarlize with the style and also memorize them. write in a situation you're not used to..

    don't write from the mind write form the heart and you'll find true words.

    write from your heart and from your soul
    keep it deep and meaning ful
    what i do is listen to music and go into a zone and i just write and write
    my friends really enjoy it. and i love to hear and see their reactions to it. so i hope that helps some

    someday you guys gotta teach me to write from my heart and soul instead of mind... I'd like to think I write with my entire body, all as one. But i guess it doesn't matter. your solar plexus is supposedly the seat of creative energy, so maybe that's where it all comes from...
