Is it a good idea? I don't know. If you can fix what is broken and have it come to a resolution then maybe.

As a poet you want to stay away from the specific topics that are done over and over again. These kind of poems can often get lost in the mass of others that are just like them.

Remember, a good poem, like a good story must have a clear start, middle and end. Have your ending be the strongest part of the poem and have it come to a clear resolution. Make the reader think seriously about what you have written if it is a sad/dark poem and show the reader what is happening, don't tell them.

i love descriptive poems. it adds a sense of reality to it, and u can really connect with it.

well thats just what i think, and without meaning it, i have written many descriptive poems, which have done quite well as far as ratings and comments go. =)

    good luck. =D
