20 years agoWell my hus prposed to me out side my grandmothers one night while he was dropign me off.We were sittign outside talkign liek we normally do b4 he leaves it was round xmas time but early in the mth of dec.So neway i was sitting and he kneeled down but hes tall so i thought nothing of it then hes leik u know i love u right im like ya of course.and he starts reaching into his pocket and im liek wow lol what r u doing he pulls out a box and i start laughing cause u know wed only been dating liek 3-4 mths so i thought it was a joke.Well he opend teh box and i saw teh ring i laughed a lil more than hes liek will u marry me.. then i stopped laughing and was leik omg r u serious and hes leik yes i love u so i said yes =)

This must sound terrible but I honestly cannot remember my first proposal. I think that is because not long into our relationship we both began to assume that we would be married. All our friends and relatives also thought so. I was 19 when we married. Somewhere in all the big plans we made, a few important details have faded from memory. And, since my husband is deceased, I can’t ask him. Next time I’ll definitely make it a point to remember.
An outdoor setting would be special. Maybe on a sailboat out over the ocean or on the beach at sunset. Or on a picnic in some lovely setting with just the two of us. And then I would just like to hear the words spoken, nothing elaborate or contrived.
