Should my fiance be mad at me?

My fiance got mad at me Saturday. I was having my birthday and having a good time. Then he like exploded at me. I asked him what was wrong and he told me that he was mad because I was dancing with my friend instead of him (all day). He felt left out. I did ask him to dance with me, but he said that since I couldn't dance very well he'd feel bad because he can dance and he didn't ant to make me feel bad. I then told him that if he wanted to dance with my friend he could (because she was also a good dancer). He said no because he didn't want to make me jealous, even though I told him I would not be. I don't know if he should be mad at me or if he's just being silly about all this.
