    this is my first time entering a poetry contest, so i hope i am doing this right. lol. neways, i have a love poem that i would like to submit, so here it is:

    By and By

    The days go by and by
    Yet still she refuses to try
    Her heart is broken
    With every word spoken
    She's lost and she's hurt

    The weeks go by and by
    No longer can she cry
    They look at her with hate
    But, maybe, it's just her fate
    She's hurt and she's hopeless

    The months go by and by
    She sees the look in his eye
    But she doesn't know what to do
    With feelings so difficult to subdue
    She's hopeless, but she's thinking

    The years go by and by
    She now begins to try
    He looks at her and says, "I do."
    With all her heart, she does too
    She's thinking that she's found

    Hey this is my first contest of this caliber i guess...like i could actually win something rather then a couple votes...so heres my favorite one of mine...

    Gossip

    How do you accept the truth,
    If you know its all lies,
    Do you go along,
    Or live in a secret disguise,

    How do you decipher everything,
    That passes through your ears,
    Do you just ignore it,
    Or let it bother you to tears,

    How do you tell yourself,
    This is not right,
    Do you sit there,
    Or stand up and fight ,

    How do you go on,
    With the life you live,
    Do you condemn,
    Or try to forgive

    Heart Of A Million Dreams.

    With lines decorating the sides of her blue eyes;
    She looks upon her reflection in the mirror to -
    A blurred image of her past staring back at her,
    Draped in a clutter of long forgotten good-byes.

    Crocodile tears stream down her foundation disguise;
    As bittersweet compassion coats her scarlet lips,
    And her pounding head throbs as she etches her face -
    With lines decorating the sides of her blue eyes.

    A heart of a million dreams lets out a sorrowful sigh;
    As the rustic beat muffles her dreadful secrets -
    Engraved along the blackened red linen and lace;
    Draped in a clutter of long forgotten good-byes.

    With lines decorating the sides of her blue eyes;
    She spends the night with a torn photograph -
    Draped in a clutter of long forgotten good-byes.

    A Villonnet is a hybrid of the Villanelle and the Sonnet. It has the Iambic Pentameter of both, but holds the four-stanza/line structure of the Sonnet, while utilizing the two-line rhyme nature of the Villanelle. The final stanza replaces the Sonnet couplet with a typical Villanelle tercet.

    The Sand Of My Hour-Glass
    by Bryan

    I sit here now and let the time pass,
    and count the sand in my hour-glass.
    Time goes on, nothing left for me to do,
    but sit here lonely just thinking of you.
    I stare at the fire burning in this fireplace,
    the flames dance with the outline of your face.
    The warmth from it, like when you held me,
    but it fades away into another memory.
    I cant figure out why this pain is still here,
    i've shed too many tears, faced all my fears.
    Its not that easy holding in this pain,
    to keep me from finally going insane.
    You didnt mean it, I know you didnt try,
    to break my heart and leave it here to die.
    As fast as it came, you took it away,
    now i pay for it each and every day.
    I will wait, even if it takes eternity,
    for you to see what you really mean to me.
